tbill Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 started on this awhile ago, and it sorta got set aside during other projects, but it's back on the bench. have a lot of the parts painted and ready for detail, but i wanted to see how it was gonna look up on wheels, so last night i mocked it up to see how we were looking, I think I'm gonna like it thanks for looking.
Ron Hamilton Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 I like that!I just picked up one of those kits today, to use some of the "gasser" parts on a sedan, along with a Resin button & tuft interior from Replicas and Miniatures CO. of MD. I have to raid the parts box for some pieces, including a FE or SOHC Ford engine and a HD Automatic Transmission. I am thinking Black of Dark Green.I cannot wait to see that one finished!
vintagedragcrazy Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 That's a nice color on that car it's going to look pretty sweet when it's done. What color is that you used?vince
tbill Posted December 14, 2016 Author Posted December 14, 2016 thanks all Vince, the color is a GM color called 'Ladies and Magenta-Men". I work at a Chevy dealer, so when I see a color I like, I order some right from GM in a spray can.
vintagedragcrazy Posted December 15, 2016 Posted December 15, 2016 Thanks bill I might have to look into getting that color I like it!!vince
Ace-Garageguy Posted December 15, 2016 Posted December 15, 2016 ...the color is a GM color called "Ladies and Magenta-Men"... Boy, that's about the most non-PC name I've ever heard for a color. I love it.
geetee66 Posted December 15, 2016 Posted December 15, 2016 Great colour great subject choiceI'll be watching your progress ?
tbill Posted December 17, 2016 Author Posted December 17, 2016 got some work done, lot to do yet, also forgot to post this pic in my first post, figured I would try a lace paint job, not perfect, but not too bad for a rattle can job, thanks for looking
tbill Posted December 19, 2016 Author Posted December 19, 2016 more progress, moving right along, few more bits to paint, and need to polish the body and bmf it. thanks for looking.
DumpyDan Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Awesome looking, lace looks good on the roof
geetee66 Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Taking shape nicely!Engine is a gemInterior is spot on. Funnily enough, I was only just considering those bucket seats for my current build. Didn't come from the AMT 32 phaeton? Or were they from their 57 Chevy kit.I can't remember. Very cool though, in metal flake ?
TooOld Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Sharp looking paint , and the engine looks great !
tbill Posted December 21, 2016 Author Posted December 21, 2016 thanks guys GeeTee, not sure where the seats originated from, got them out of a buddies parts box engine compartment is done, and the chassis is about 98% finished, just need to add a couple bits. next up i guess will be a few hours of foil work and some paint polishing, thanks for looking.

ChrisBcritter Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 The bucket seats are from the AMT '49 Mercury. This is turning out real sharp!
