DrKerry Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 While this isn't going to be built as a replica stock wagon, it'll be more as a what if sport wagon I guess...Built using a 65 Chevelle wagon roof onto the 62 Catalina.... More pics at link....http://s1175.photobucket.com/user/DrKerry2/library/62 Pontiac station wagon?sort=2&page=1 Need to flatten out the back top of roof. Going to put a piece of wire and super glue it in so it holds a flatter shape...
Cpt Tuttle Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 Almost as if I could imagine that as a removable top, a Pontiac "Blazer"......nice flow in the lines though.
DrKerry Posted December 31, 2016 Author Posted December 31, 2016 Thanks gents. It's similar to my Poncho Mino.......
Rodent Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 Like if they had continued making the 2 door Safari. I like the idea!
espo Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 You really need to cast this body for those of us less able builders. Look forward to following this build.
bbowser Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 Great idea. Going to be very cool. X2! Keep us posted.
CometMan Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 Really cool idea! Would like to see some progress pics.
DrKerry Posted January 1, 2017 Author Posted January 1, 2017 Thanks GentsYou really need to cast this body for those of us less able builders. Look forward to following this build.David, you'll be in luck. When I get it done it'll be going to Jimmy Flintstone for casting!!! Got the rear portion widened out and in place. Take some pics and post them up shortly!!!
DrKerry Posted January 1, 2017 Author Posted January 1, 2017 I sanded the hip off the top of the Chevelle roof to have a smooth roof on it...
disabled modeler Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 Thanks GentsDavid, you'll be in luck. When I get it done it'll be going to Jimmy Flintstone for casting!!! Got the rear portion widened out and in place. Take some pics and post them up shortly!!!COOL....! I need more wagons...LOL..!
DumpyDan Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 Very interesting, great looking wagon would be interested
espo Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 I sanded the hip off the top of the Chevelle roof to have a smooth roof on it...Almost disappointed that the roof feature will be removed. I think it would give it more of a factory look. But that's just my opinion, I'm still going to get one. Thank you for the heads up on the Flintstone connection. Any idea yet when they might be offering this body ?
DrKerry Posted January 1, 2017 Author Posted January 1, 2017 Only reason I took the hip off the roof was to keep it close to a Pontiac design look..... as for when it'll be ready hard to tell. I have to get the master done and then for him to cast......
geetee66 Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 That works really well. The proportions are bang-on.I'll be watching this build ?
PARTSMARTY Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 I absolutely love where this going-Mark Orr will go nuts when he sees this-lol !!!
