tbill Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 ok, here's what i will be doing, nothing is out of the box yet, just starting my thread
cowboy rich Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 Always liked the look of that kit but never built one, I'll enjoy watching.
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 Great project!! I've built the truck and the bed, but not together. Looking forward to seeing this one.
Mopar - D Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 Tom looks like another start to a great build.

tbill Posted January 5, 2017 Author Posted January 5, 2017 nothing picture worthy yet, but i have the frame about 90% assembled. color-wise, i'm thinking a green color, just a basic wrecker, nothing 'flashy', a new work truck look is what i am after.
Canso65 Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 I've been drooling over this kit when I go to the hobby shop.Looking forward to seeing this come together Tom.
mikemodeler Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 I've had the previous issue of this kit on my "to do" list for quite some time, I know once I start I have to commit to finishing it. I want to use a more modern looking truck and am thinking the Revell 359 tractor from a few years ago would be suitable and compliment the Can Do wrecker I also have waiting to be built.Looking forward to seeing this one done, maybe it will give me the nudge to get started on mine!
tbill Posted February 6, 2017 Author Posted February 6, 2017 well, i have done some work on this, just not much, lol. have a hand full of projects on the bench at the moment, but i think tomorrow night will be engine assembly at build night. so, stay tuned for further developments
Mopar - D Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 Looking forward to seeing what you do with your engine Tom.
tbill Posted February 13, 2017 Author Posted February 13, 2017 ok, been working on this between things, so, here is my bit of progress, have the engine in color also. updates will be slow for a bit untill i get some other builds finished off, then i will be focusing on this. thanks for looking.
Jim B Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Looking nice so far. Frame is straight & level (always a plus); and the bed is square. Very nice start.
kilrathy10 Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 I've always liked this wrecker bed....Just something about it, you know....You've got a great start....Looking good....

tbill Posted March 17, 2017 Author Posted March 17, 2017 contrary to popular belief, i have been working on this, just haven't been on-line much. a little mock up of where i am heading with this, lots of painting left to do, and i may add the white stripes from the KW snapper kit to it. color is GM 'Fresh Lime Green' and looks close to lime ice, the interior is tamiya racing green. hope to have another update soon, and get time to catch up on all the builds going on in here........
tbill Posted March 19, 2017 Author Posted March 19, 2017 well, decal situation has been resolved had some decals from the revell 32ford 5 window laying around and thought, lets see if these will work, i kinda dig it. it's all just mocked up so don't let the crooked parts concern ya, lol. more to come soon, thanks for looking.
mikemodeler Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 I like it Bill, definitely different with the flames but it fits! I have one of these to build, gotta get busy.
Mopar - D Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 Tom wow those flames really make this tow truck. Nice progress.
purepmd Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 Nice work, Tom! Love that green! I, too, like repurposing decals. Great results with yours.
