bbowser Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 (edited) Out of my comfort zone a bit with this one, opening doors and all, but I'm pleased with how it came out. The kit is built OOB and the fit a detail are pretty good IMO. Comments welcome, thanks for looking. Edited July 7, 2017 by bbowser replaced pics deleted from PB
Kit Basher Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 That looks great! I have this kit on my "To Do" list. I hope mine comes out half as nice as yours.
tgabreu Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 I don't think I've ever seen this model built- nice job! I like the color. I have one of these that I started a while back. I was kind of surprised at how well molded and engineered it was for a kit that was tooled in '64.Tom
landman Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 Nice job Bruce. I built one eons ago. I wonder where it ended up.
Erik Smith Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 Great work. Fantastic looking model. I have the same toothpicks.
donb Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 Looks great. I really like this body style. Nice paint too.
peekay Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 Very nice - difficult to get this kit to look this good.
sjordan2 Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 Very nice - difficult to get this kit to look this good.Agree.Excellent job.
JerseyRed Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 I really like this car and you did an excellent job on it.My only question, since no else asked, is will it do 185?
Matt Bacon Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 Great job... and I know how challenging it is! Very nice colour combination, and it is such an achingly stylish car to have on the cabinet...Time to do the DB4 next? ;-Pbest,M.
Harry P. Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Very nice! Looks like you got all the opening panels to fit quite well, which makes a huge difference when you see the model all closed up. Excellent job. But i do question the use of a 2x4 as a hood prop. Not very Italian. You might want to scratch something up from wire,
Dodge Driver Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 That's different, and I like it! Nice paint color and execution.
Cpt Tuttle Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Great build, looks exclusive in metallic grey.
bbowser Posted January 7, 2017 Author Posted January 7, 2017 Very nice! Looks like you got all the opening panels to fit quite well, which makes a huge difference when you see the model all closed up. Excellent job. But i do question the use of a 2x4 as a hood prop. Not very Italian. You might want to scratch something up from wire,LOL! I just grabbed a couple toothpicks off the bench for the pictures but you're right, a bit crude in 1/24 scale.
sjordan2 Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 (edited) Actually, it's 1:25. The wire wheels are okay, but hard to find better replacements. For those interested in the kit, note that it's the 2nd generation fuel-injected GTi version, though many owners reverted to the Weber carb version. Not a tremendously accurate kit, but the only game in town, and this is as good a box-stock build as you'll find anywhere – just excellent. Edited January 7, 2017 by sjordan2
bbowser Posted January 8, 2017 Author Posted January 8, 2017 Thanks Skip! I don't know a lot about these exotics under the skin, just that they're about as sexy as it gets on the outside. I have the DB4 in the stash for the future.
Dave42 Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 Looks great, love the color. Opening panels are always tough for me. Nice work on these.
Dann Tier Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 Darn good for being out of your comfort zone!!!!!, Extremely nice!!!
