misterNNL Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 Great thread. I have scratch built two stations myself and am really enjoying watching your building process. Thanks for sharing and taking the extra time to photograph all the individual steps and post them. These just might help other builders to get started on their own projects.
mustang1989 Posted January 23, 2018 Posted January 23, 2018 This diorama area of modeling is catchy!! Love all the scratch building going into this one!!
fairlane1320 Posted February 26, 2018 Author Posted February 26, 2018 More progress on the station.....
Anglia105E Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 The door... the door handle..... the decals....... fantastic! That is how to do it properly. David
fairlane1320 Posted March 9, 2018 Author Posted March 9, 2018 Thx guys I received the toilets and sinks from Scale Equipment. They are very nice, and come with everything shown here. I did some measuring and found the toilets are slightly undersized; the sinks are way too big. So I "resized" the sinks to fit the tiny bathrooms. Here's the finished women's toilet. I glued a piece of clear plastic in with Elmers glue to simulate water. For a look at the "realistic" gas station men's toilet (not for the easily offended!), click here........ http://public.fotki.com/fordflashback/dioramas/gas-station-1/1520210354476.html And the attendant's uniform is getting some detailing too....
crazyjim Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 Very nice. I would have left the lid up in the men's room.

fairlane1320 Posted March 11, 2018 Author Posted March 11, 2018 I decided the station needed a candy machine, so I threw one together today. I found a photo of a vintage candy dispenser, added my fav candy bars and printed it out on photo paper. Next I made a simple plastic box and glued the images on. I used brass rod for the legs.
Curt Posted March 11, 2018 Posted March 11, 2018 Very clever work on the accessories, Ron. This is an impressive project!

Anglia105E Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 Looks great with the ' Zephyr ' lettering Ron, and the truck outside the front is perfect. With your period correct figures and accessories, this is turning out a really nice diorama.... like it a lot. David
