Phirewriter Posted April 23, 2017 Posted April 23, 2017 I didn't mean to go off topic with my previous post, however I think that we owe Ed Sexton a huge round of thanks for taking his valuable time and attending these shows to give us a preview of Revell's future releases and answer our questions. Thanks Ed!!!!!

Phirewriter Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 (edited) Oh I know, but they could send anyone really. I know that I'd rather be spending my weekend doing things I want, be it modeling or whatever. Regardless of what the compensation is, he still has to put up with quite a bit. As long as I've known him (looong time) he's been a public face for the company and has had to deal with some very interesting people and situations. Don't know that I could do it. martinfan5 Posted April 24, 2017 Author Posted April 24, 2017 On the topic of handling the display modes, from what I am hearing, and I am not taking any sides here, Ed stated that the was ok with the "handling" of them for photo's.

Seeing the kits in photos, and then in person has certainly opened me up to the possibility of purchasing a few that really didn't interest me from the flyer.

Chuck Kourouklis Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 Yup. NNL West '16, Mr Sexton was just fine with the display models being handled. Those weren't painted, but I'd wager that this year as in '16, he presumed we wouldn't be tossing them about like footballs and spiking them in the end zone. Thanks again for the shots, James & Frank!

echoxrayniner Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 (edited) Man, that Charger is nothing short of sexy and luckily thanks to the pictures my concern that it was gonna be the Fast & Furious '70 Charger again(with the '69 tail) is gone. That being said though I hope there's some trim or a decal to fill the little divider section on the lights, but we'll find out later this year. Edited April 25, 2017 by echoxrayniner
Chuck Kourouklis Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 A decal would be ideal, but long as they have an engraved Charger logo, I'm just about as good with foil and paint.
Rob Hall Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 I'm surprised there isn't a chrome bezel/reflector backing for the taillight to fit into...
Mr mopar Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Hopefully Revell will fine tune the rear tail light panel with a Chrome piece ? and I did notice there is no torque boxes in front of the rear springs all hemi cars got them and resonators for the exhaust ,I'm not nit picking all this can be fixed .Thank you revell for bring this kit out , my favorite year of Charger .
Luc Janssens Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 I'm surprised there isn't a chrome bezel/reflector backing for the taillight to fit into...Maybe at the time the display model was built, some parts weren't available, cuz the rear bumper looks the same as in the initial F&F release (doesn't have bumper guards)
Mr mopar Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 Just got an Email from Mr Ed Sexton from Revell on the 70' Dodge Charger R/T , He said "There will be a different tail light panel."so there we go Right form the man himself .
stavanzer Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 After looking at both the pink car shown here, and my Revell F&F car at home, I see that the built kit at the show has the mounting points but not the boxes. The Boxes are depicted on the F&F car by small plates glued over the front springs on the frame. The two small plates are in the kit. Not sure, but my guess is that they are on one of the F&F only parts trees in the F&F kit. So, they "MIGHT" be in the new stock kit, but only if Revell puts the tree they are on, in the stock kit.Somebody with an unbuilt F&F kit, might be able to confirm what tree has them, and what other parts are on that tree.Alan

Alan Hey, Alan - Torque boxes seem to be on a tree with stock parts - (check bottom tree left of tires, top right just beside the stabilizer bar). Just to refresh, the unplated tree with F & F parts:
jaymcminn Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 (edited) Did they borrow a set of the NASCAR tires for that 934? Yeesh. Everything else looks pretty good though. Edited May 6, 2017 by jaymcminn Looked meaner in print than it sounded in my head
stavanzer Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Thanks for the photo's, Chuck. So, that means that the torque boxes will be in the stock kit, even if not called out in the directions.Seeing the parts trees, really helps clarify the reasoning that Revell employed. It would appear that swapping just one parts tree will handle all the changes from F&F to stock. I'd forgotten that the taillight panel that has been the focus of so much concern is on the F&F parts tree. Revell was really thinking ahead. Notice that the lifting blocks for the rear springs are on that tree too. I'd guess that Revell will have to use just two trees, one chromed and one plain to render the stock Charger. Sometime in 2019-2020 We'll see the 2'n'1 Charger Kit...........Way to go, Revell. This means I'll need to build Two Chargers now.

Chuck Kourouklis Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 They didn't look so disastrous on Revell AG's website, but that's some serious what-da-fudgecake goin' on right there. And Revell AG's gonna splurge on tire trademarking while Revell Illinois won't, eh?
