I think I’m good to call this one done.

I tried a few new things on this one. First time airbrushing, various polishing steps, BMF, and a miniscule amount of engine detailing. Looking at the pics, I'll probably paint the exhaust tips black.

I have another Superbird that I’m working in more scratch building to. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/76443-plymouth-superbird/?page=1

I got a little hung up, so I figured a box stock build would help give a sense of accomplishment. That was probably 4 years ago.

There are a few things I’m not happy with on this. I didn’t evenly coat various body parts, so there are different shades of B3 Ice Blue Metallic.

The kit tire decals didn’t suck themselves down to the raised letter detail as I would have hoped. I used sol and set, so I suppose it’s time for more practice.

I also used Alcad on the rear bumper and hub caps. It came out decent enough, but not perfect. BMF could also use more practice, and I could use a fresh stock. This stuff was 5-10 years old. I think on the next model that requires it, I’ll do some definition work on the trim to make the BMF process easier.

What frustrates me the most is how long I took to complete the model, and how little all those lessons will translate to the next one as a result. On good days I have a decent enough golf swing. Unfortunately those days are so few and far between that I can’t sufficiently develop the skills through repetition. Every new round starts from scratch.

That is one sexy superbird... I love when you see one that's classy, yet with a custom flair..not the typical blue or purple. Thanks for sharing!

I finished one of these last year in a candy blue type finish. I have a couple more in the stash, that I want to build. I wanna build one to replicate (only better and more detail) one that I built when I in my early teens.

Looking great to me! Good foil job and I like the color choice. I keep my BMF in the refrigerator and it seems to last longer that way
