GMCMAN52 Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 I like it all except for the front wheel/tire combo
Greg Myers Posted June 18, 2017 Author Posted June 18, 2017 Seems to be the trend nowa days with 1:1 cars, spindle mounts, no brakes, goofy "Artillery" wheels, and even goofier torpedo style head lights not shown here. Then let's stick the out the side of the body, again not shown here.
stavanzer Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 The ghost of Everett "Box Man" Westphal strikes again.
jjsipes Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 I like it but it needs an early hemi instead of what appears to be a Chevy "W block".
Greg Myers Posted June 19, 2017 Author Posted June 19, 2017 Boy, nothing gets by you guys. But hey, this looks like a pretty neat build.do you think that Vicky was shortened or is it stock.I really like this W motor and all.Just thought i'd share it with you. Hope you liked it.
Draggon Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 That would make a nice basis for a more traditional rod. The goofy parts can be replaced easily. The only issue I have is the reworking of the rear wheel wells. That would take a bit of surgery to fix. Greg, I don't think it's been shortened, I think that rear wheel well issue is what makes it appear like that.
ChrisBcritter Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 Shortened through the doors, maybe. The body lines around the windows, cowl and beltline are nothing like those of a real '28 Dodge, anyhow...
Greg Myers Posted June 21, 2017 Author Posted June 21, 2017 Seeings how in reality it's a '32 Ford Vicky
Eshaver Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 Seems to be the trend nowa days with 1:1 cars, spindle mounts, no brakes, goofy "Artillery" wheels, and even goofier torpedo style head lights not shown here. Then let's stick the out the side of the body, again not shown here.Sorta like Ghetto "Bling wheels" and lowered to the ground .......I'll pass o n BOTH !
dimaxion Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 A Factory Stock '28 Dodge , I'll spend my hard earned dollars on .. Thanx ..
Art Anderson Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 A real 1928 Dodge "Victoria"--that model on the fake box is nowhere near close (it's just a modified AMT '32 Ford Victoria (Dodge called their's a "Brouham"--- https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/f1/Dodge_Victory_Six_Brougham_1928.jpg Art
Draggon Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 What Goofy? I'd totally drive it just like it is! If I have to tell you, you wouldn't understand, lol.
Rocking Rodney Rat Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 The body looks more like a Model A Vicky than a Model B... -RRR
samdiego Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 (edited) Almost a "Purple People Eater".....My rendition of which was printed in R&C two issues after the real one shocked (or PO'd) the nation.I'm pretty sure that was the last model to be in R&C. I sent it as a dig at the model car haters and the PPE haters Edited June 23, 2017 by samdiego
samdiego Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 (edited) If I have to tell you, you wouldn't understand, lol. It's like women, understanding them was never an advantage for me Edited June 23, 2017 by samdiego
Greg Myers Posted June 24, 2017 Author Posted June 24, 2017 Almost a "Purple People Eater"..... Yes, certainly of the same cartoon style so prevalent today
