Fisher61 Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 (edited) Just finished up my Lindberg '61 Impala, painted Model Master black lacquer, went with a beige interior instead of the usual red and white. This kit went together with no problems, first Lindberg kit I've ever assembled. As always thanks for looking and questions or comments welcome! Edited June 10, 2008 by plumber
mhadman Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Beautiful work!!! I love the paint and color combo you went with..VERY nice choices...The interior looks great too.. Are not the Lindy kits GREAT..I wish they had done more 60's cars.. Very cool!
MrObsessive Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Gorgeous Car Bill!! Ditto on Lindberg doing more '60's cars..............They were on a roll for a while! That '61 still looks great after all these years------it's styling still turns heads compared to the junk GM put out in the last couple decades. Now I'm a 1961 model myself............But my "styling" turns no heads!
cruz Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 One of my favorite kits for sure, fantastic job may I add!!!!!!
mikelo Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Really nice build. Looks great. There is just something about that era. I love what I see of the interior.
Guest zebm1 Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 (edited) Dang, Bill's a 61 Model? Now I am really feeling old...... Nice Chubby, black is soo hard to get right. Edited June 9, 2008 by zebm1

cotto Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 WOW Great work, very clean. I have a few of those kits myself, I just have to polish up on my building skills a bit to finally have the courage to attack them. Very cool work, love the "eras" look of it.
Raul_Perez Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 William, GREAT job on the paint and the BMF!! The whole build looks right on the money!!
MarkJ Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Absolutely Stunning!! The paint is Model Masters but you are a Master of Modeling!! Fantastic work!!
Lyle Willits Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Well, if those pics were anywhere else, I would think that is a real car. Fantastic build.
Peter Lombardo Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 In case any “new†modelers are wondering why this build looks so great, in my opinion, it has the 3 most important elements done perfectly….1. perfectly flawless paint with a high smooth shine. 2. Great use of Bare Metal Foil and 3. Windows installed without any smudges. I know there are many other disciplines that need to be done properly…but these three done right will get results approaching this build. Nice job, beautiful build! P.S. I am a 1949 model...I like to think that I have retained the classic looks of a Mercury coupe.....low and wide. Well, maybe a little too wide now that I think about it.
bsoder Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 That is one fine lookin' 'Chevy !..I've built a few Lind. kits and I liked em'
Olle F Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 Wow... That's a show winner right there! Can we see some engine pictures, please...?
Fisher61 Posted June 10, 2008 Author Posted June 10, 2008 Here's some chassis and engine pics for you Olle.
kelson Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 A absolute beauty! black is a color i avoid painting my models ,but not a problem for you! every detail is impressive.
Olle F Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 Here's some chassis and engine pics for you Olle. Thanks, and I knew I wouldn't be disappointed. That's just beautiful! On a sidenote: Does anyone make engine compartment decals, like the ones that came with this kit? A simple thing like that adds tons of realism, but the only ones you usually get are the ones for the air filter and maybe the battery. I have been thinking about printing my own, but never found the time to do it...
Andy Wyatt Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 Very sharp build! I have a couple of those in my stash...hope they turn out half as nice as yours!
ajulia Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 Hello there friend! This is absolutely stunning!!
