ismaelg Posted August 11, 2008 Author Posted August 11, 2008 Hi, Reasons to replace some kit's steering system parts with brass: - Really round - Scale thickness - works better in moving parts - looks overall better - it's FUN! and here is the video on how it works: Thanks,
Luis Ayala Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Hi Ismael!!!! I don't know why but... this kind of reminds me of a movie... "Are we done yet"
Zoom Zoom Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 How did I miss this one? Amazing...looking forward to seeing more
Jeff Johnston Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Quit posting real parts LOL Your killing me. This is really incredible stuff.
ismaelg Posted August 12, 2008 Author Posted August 12, 2008 Last working feature! I promise! At least for now. steering system done Now I need to paint and assemble everything.... Thanks,
MrObsessive Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 That is nice and smooth Izzy! Now if you can get the steering wheel to turn the whole works..........I'll definitely pass the torch! Hmmm...........how many turns lock to lock for a '32 Chrysler?...............
ismaelg Posted August 12, 2008 Author Posted August 12, 2008 The brass, plastic and aluminum exhaust system looks promising. I only hope it fits together Thanks,
ismaelg Posted August 13, 2008 Author Posted August 13, 2008 FINALLY!!! It is taking shape! I like this chassis so much it's a shame to cover it with a body Thanks,
Raul_Perez Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Ismael, Beautiful work, as usual!! The steering mechanism looks like it moves smoother than the one on my 1:1 car!! You're right...it's a shame to cover that marvelous chassis with the body, but the end result will look awesome!! Thanks for sharing,
simonr Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Wow, sweet executive look!... ahora, voy a mi jugando parchis!...diache, que pela! Simón
ismaelg Posted August 16, 2008 Author Posted August 16, 2008 Hello, After some unsuccessful attemps at doing my own horn trumpets for this project, I tried improving the kit's parts. Here you can see the before and after. Still some additional fine tuning but it looks way much better. Thanks,
Mr. Can Am Garage Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 Hello, After some unsuccessful attemps at doing my own horn trumpets for this project, I tried improving the kit's parts. Here you can see the before and after. Still some additional fine tuning but it looks way much better. Thanks, I'm starting to wonder what you could do with a Duesenberg.... Beautiful work Izzy!
ismaelg Posted August 18, 2008 Author Posted August 18, 2008 Call me weird, but I love electrical wiring I need to check it: If I hit the lights switch the horn goes off Thanks,
george 53 Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 UHHHH,Iz I'm not a doctor(I just play one on TV),But I think you've been hangin with Bill Geary too much, cause you seem to have come down with a case of"Obsessiveitis" The ONLY way to treat this is to put as many details as possible into your builds. From what I've seen of your previous work , you've had this ailment for quite a while! My advice is to do NOTHING! it will probably go away when you die.Don't worry though, as it is not terminal.BUT as you have found, it IS contagious! Spread some my way, willya?
ismaelg Posted August 18, 2008 Author Posted August 18, 2008 Hello again, This car was a true roadster with no side windows. So the window cranks are out of place. I carefully sanded it down. One down one to go. Now you see it, Now you don't This is the kind of little details that even if nobody else notices, are important to me. After all, I build for myself and I'm my toughest critic. Thanks,
ismaelg Posted August 19, 2008 Author Posted August 19, 2008 (edited) Hi, This looks more comfortable than my couch, but if you get some Armor All in it and take a curve at more than 15 MPH you'll end up thrown out of the car Custom mix leather color (Testor's enamels) black wash, light tan drybrush, finger rubbed for sheen. Thanks, Edited August 19, 2008 by ismaelg
kerc Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 That seat looks stupid real. What colors did you mix?
ismaelg Posted August 19, 2008 Author Posted August 19, 2008 That seat looks stupid real. What colors did you mix? For the life of me I can't find where I wrote the formula! I mixed it 2 years ago for the Ferrari 612ig interior, and I had enough left for this project. I remember using Testor's Model Masters Dark tan, military brown, deep yellow and a touch of Chevy engine red. Unfortunately I can't find the ratios. I think I posted the formula on the Hobby Heaven board over 2 years ago and it was one of my last posts there. As you can see I did many trials and batch 12 was the final one. Thanks,
kerc Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 It helps a lot to know the base colors used. Thanks!
Uncle Mike Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 Hello, Box stock. Yeah right.... Made the gaps tighter as well. Thanks, NICE Hinge Job on the Golf Bag Door! This is a Very 'Clahssy' Kit! I think it's brilliant to make a Pace Car out of this! You have a fan!
ismaelg Posted August 21, 2008 Author Posted August 21, 2008 Begining to look like something we recognize. Well, it looks like a dismantled stolen car Thanks,
george 53 Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Man, Iz, that's gonna be one really sharp lookin build! The color combo's are GREAT! BTW, when the cops found my Second 95 Impala SS that was stolen, it din't look anything like yours. It was literally stripped to the shell. It looked like a body in white, cept it was black! all that was left were the rear quarter glass,an backlite!(back window)the rest, even the insulation, was GONE!!!!! Truly a Profesional job!
