Thanks Pat !

Yes I used the original 55 year old decals but I sprayed  them with a sealer before hand .:)

By the way. Can you tell more about the "sealer" you used on the decals. And how you did it.

Great build of a lovely kit.

steve

Thanks !

Very nice indeed! The mods are just right - enough to improve the look without reducing the kit-nostalgic factor.

I've loved the Monogram early Ford kits since they were new (when I was 12) and I'm slowly working on a stock Phaeton.

I knew from the start I'd have to thin down those spokes sooner or later and appreciate your description of how you did it.

Thanks !  Get yourself a set of the smallest files you can find and go for it .

I really like this one.. Cool model B)

Thanks you !

Sweet job! What a time warp to see that kit done nearly out of the box.

Thanks You !

That turned out great, nicely done!

Thanks much !

What an outstanding job on this Bob. I'm saving your pics for reference when I get around to building mine. Several years back Norm Veber did a box art version of the 30 Phaeton drag car which, to my eyes, became the gold standard for that kit. Your Yellow Jacket has achieved that status. Well done!

Thank you very much Glenn !  I've seen Norm's Phaeton and it's super nice , I appreciate the compliment .

Thanks !

Very nice. I sometimes like the look and simplicity of those old kits like that.

Thanks Scott , I couldn't agree more !

I've always used Testors Decal Bonder only because it's always worked for me so I've never tried anything else .  It's sprayed on the decal sheet in 2 or 3 light coats and allowed to dry overnight , then the decals can be cut apart and applied like normal .  It goes on very very thin so it doesn't affect how the decals look after they're applied .  A lot of people just use a clear spay paint to do this but the Testors Decal Bonder goes on much thinner than any clear I've seen .

Another one out of the park. I am a bit curious why you stripped the playing from the radiator. It doesn't match the box art or the real car. Always love seeing your builds.

I always steered clear of this kit back in the 60s because I had gotten the deuce roadster that had a 2 piece body shell. Left and right halves. Nice concept, but NOT well done at all. I expected this to be the same. While it's obviously not quite as good as the recent Revell 29 on deuce rails, I see I should have bought a few of these back then. Nice job!

Yes you should have !  This was a completely new tool for 1962 replacing the multipiece body kit .

Quick fact : The Yellow Jacket parts (minus the decals) were included in this kit also released in 1962 , molded in green plastic . :)

Man, this came out great. The improvements you made don't really jump out, which is a compliment to your craftsmanship. Just a cool model, built really well.

Thank you !

This looks so good, Monogram could show it at a contest and get orders for a reissue. Wonderful build.

I agree with that statement!

Great build!! Has a coolness about it. Looks like it could be cloned today....

Thanks much Dave !  Wouldn't a reissue be cool ? But it will never happen . :D

Restore it back to the 6 in 1 version....I'll make us decals!!! thx

The 6 in 1 version would be the best option . . . as long as it's not molded in green .
