progplastic Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 (edited) AMT 1956 Ford Victoria. Quick shelf model I built a few years ago.. Edited December 16, 2017 by progplastic
Codi Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Looks nice Jim. Clean clean build. cheers, tim
Force Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Looks to be a little high in the front for a Gasser, I believe the centerline of the front of the crank pulley couldn't be raised more than 24 inches from the ground in the Gas classes back in the day.
cobraman Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Love it ! Very nice work. I like the height of the front end .
Snake45 Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 Very nice! I've wanted to do a '56 Ford gasser for decades. You are inspiring me to get on with it!
carman1 Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 WOW, I don't like it, I love it ! Great Job !!!

Maybe if he was building a 100% accurate replica of a gasser from the 50s your words would be relevant, but the intent is just a guy building a nice shelf model ,lets not take that away from him ,remember guys its called",modelcarsmag".anyway very nice work ,love that color?
DumpyDan Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 Well Jim, that is one beauty great color great looking

I'm not taking away that it's a nice model because it is and I do like it. I only think the "Gasser" term is recklessly used nowadays for cars that doesn't fit within the gasser rules, just because the front is up in the air doesn't automaticly mean it's a Gasser...it needs more to be that. Most of the drag cars had the front up high back in the day before the "wrinkle wall" slicks came out for easier weight transfer and many of the cars people today call Gassers are in fact Altereds. progplastic Posted December 16, 2017 Author Posted December 16, 2017 thanks guys, I really appreciate all the kind words.
El Caballo Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 Wow, that's cool, I really like the burnt orange color too.
6bblbird Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 I don't see where the builder calls it a gasser. Put some headlights and license plates on it and call it a Streat Freak! Looks great! reminds me of a Ed Roth cartoon car! WF
progplastic Posted December 20, 2017 Author Posted December 20, 2017 Walter, i change the heading, I read '56 Ford Vicky Gasser when I first posted it. thanks for the awesome comparison to Roth.
mod3l Lover Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 Man that looks so nice, and yes, . . . the finish top notch also! I just love it!!! David S.
Southern Fried Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 Nice job on one of my favorites! I've probably had 30 of theses things since the late '60's.
10thumbs Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 Looks excellent Jim! I really like the snappy paint job and choice of color too. Also the natural looking tire patina is outstanding....all of this is just greatly enhanced by wonderful lighting and photography. Love it!
