mchook Posted December 20, 2017 Posted December 20, 2017 My parents dug out some stuff to decorate for the Holidays & they found this. When I was a kid my parents bought this in a box lot at an auction (over 40 years ago) & I played with it forever. I remember sitting on the trailer & driving all over the house with the trailer filled full of other toys. When I got into my teens it was the perfect place to hide a bottle of booze. My parents moved to Tennessee when I was 18 & they stayed over 10 years. Then moved back to New York after my wife & I had kids. You can't keep Grandparents away! The other day my father said he had something for me to take home. I though the truck was long gone, so it was pretty cool to see it again. It still is painted the way it was when I got it & is in pretty good shape for the amount of miles it has on it. I think I might strip it down, fix the cracks in the wood & give it a new paint job. Anyway, I figured all you truckers would enjoy this. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!
DrKerry Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 I'd leave it as is!!!!!!!!! That in itself tells a story of the miles that were put on it!!!!!! If it were me it'd stay the way she looks!!!!!!

Mercuryman54 Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 Yes leave it as is!! You can't replicate the look that truck has! It's a piece of art that should remain the way time has made it. Dennis
cobraman Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 Your truck but I agree with the others, keeps your mitts off ! Just my opinion.
plastic trucker Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 But don't let the children play with it because it might be painted with lead paint.

cowboy rich Posted January 20, 2018 Posted January 20, 2018 I have to agree with the folks above this post, I'd let it be myself. But as mentioned it is your truck, just my opinion. Cool story and I like the truck I think it's pretty neat.
Bennyg Posted January 20, 2018 Posted January 20, 2018 Wouldn't hurt to restore it. People are restoring matchbox and hot wheels and they look great. Ben
disabled modeler Posted January 20, 2018 Posted January 20, 2018 To me it would be a real timepiece to have just as it is if it were me. Sure people restore things and they look great but the history is pretty much lost...and its autographed .
