Buffs Fan Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 Hello, I have been a member here for a while but this is the first build that I have posted so i hope y'all enjoy it... This is my take on the 57 Chevy driven by Tony Danza in the movie Hollywood Knights (AKA Project X built by Popular Hot Rodding) I did update it to a Big block and used a butterfly style scoop I sourced the headers and exhaust pipes from the parts bin and added a resin MSD box that I received in trade from Hemi John Patton other than that it pretty much a box build. Any comments or critiques are very welcome Thank you
Snake45 Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 Very nice! I followed Project X as a kid and to this day it's a favorite of mine. And you did a nice job with it. Model on!

StevenGuthmiller Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 Nice work Mike. I think it would be fun to do a bunch of the cars from that movie. There were a lot of nice ones. I built a '61 Ford Starliner a while back, that while not completely accurate, it was inspired by the one at the end of the movie. Steve

donb Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 Nice replica of that car. And a great movie too.
RAMBENNA Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 looks great just like in the movie, nice job
gtx6970 Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 Nice, I have one on my to do list. Hopefully sooner than later
Mahogany Rush Posted December 25, 2017 Posted December 25, 2017 Very nice job on the build. Love that movie too. A friend of mine was one of those naked pledges running around throughout.
mikemodeler Posted December 26, 2017 Posted December 26, 2017 Nice job, sure wish they would play that movie on TV, haven't seen it in years! A lot of nice cars in the movie, a lot of them could probably be built as models.
BigTallDad Posted December 26, 2017 Posted December 26, 2017 Nicely done! It's refreshing to see a "Plain Jane" version of the '57...2-dr sedan, bare side trim on the rear fenders, and (especially) no rubber "bullets" on the front bumper. The back up lights may or may not have been included on the 1:1; I had a '55 210 sedan with a V8, no radio, but it had back up lights.
bbowser Posted December 26, 2017 Posted December 26, 2017 Never saw the movie but like the car. Nice!
StevenGuthmiller Posted December 26, 2017 Posted December 26, 2017 For those who have never seen the movie, check it out. It's kind of like a sophomoric version of American Graffiti. Here are a few of the movie cars. Steve
