RandyB. Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 Decided to finish this build off after I started it 10 years ago. Painted in Grabber Orange (non factory color for this year). Used foil for the headlight bezels. Not a fan of this style of Mustang but thought I should have one in the collection. A Pinto on steroids!
HotRodaSaurus Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 (edited) Love it, the colour works fine. I had one of these(a 1974), my first American car Ok it's not a 60s Shelby but when we all went out in it everyone loved the way the body rocked and the front end rose up when we put it to the wood. All that and it was only a V6 notch back. Always wanted the 1/16 kit but never got it Edited January 15, 2018 by HotRodaSaurus
br67 Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 Nice build Randy - not my favourite Mustang but def growing on me
peekay Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 Very nice! I like this design a lot more now than when they were new.
unclescott58 Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 I love Mutt IIs. A nice job on building one.
shoopdog Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 Great looking build, very well done for sure.
FUSIONBOY Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 Best thing about these things, was how easy a 302 fit into them.
bbowser Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 Great model, nice clean work. Although many degrade the lowly II, it did keep the nameplate alive with some semblance of performance through the awful '70's decade of poor gas, 5 mph bumpers, and sky high insurance rates on "muscle cars".
Lovefordgalaxie Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 Very sharp looking pony. Nice color too.
426 pack Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 Looks good don’t know why almost everyone hates the mustang ll I personally think they look cool and the fact that you can put a V8 in them makes me want to have one.
Tom Geiger Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 When I met my wife she was driving a 1974 Mustang II V6 coupe in that same color, with a black vinyl top. I had the occasion to drive it regularly and we did a 6 hr trip to her friend's house in Virginia. It was a comfortable and peppy little car. Always started, no issues, did what it was supposed to do. Nice model, I have the paint and resin coupe body put aside to build her car someday.
RandyB. Posted January 16, 2018 Author Posted January 16, 2018 Thanks guys. Not my favourite Mustang either but figured I needed one in my collection.
webestang Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 Wonderful build!!!!! I used that kit to make a replica of my 78 II........man I miss that car.
Erik Smith Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 Wow. Really great looking model - from a mediocre kit! I don’t like these Mustangs either but have been tempted to build just because they are kind of, well, yuck. You’ve done an excellent job on yours.
donb Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 Great looking model. Might even be better than the real car!
