Looking really nice!  I like it.  My only concern is the wood decking.  I don't think you'll be able to find an 8ft x 16ft piece of wood.  Will you be making that into planking?  Or is it planking, and I just can't tell?

Thanks. I have not yet scribed the deck but was considering doing that. As of now it is just 3 strips but you can not see the seams. Once the car and other stuff is on the bed I don't think it will matter much because you won't see much.

Fantastic work Ray! Love the color and how this build is looking. Did you shorten the wheel base on the frame?

Thanks for the comments guys. Carl, no I did not shorten it. It was built as intended. The kit does come with the longer frame rails and also a longer driveshaft however not a longer bed. The wheelbase does seem to short to me. Probably could have move the rears back a bit.

Well, I just spent about a half hour trying to install one of the 5 piece mirrors. I said cuss words I don't even know the meaning to !  Now I know why they don't show the mirrors on the box art. Not working on the other one till tomorrow.

Hello,

I know this is an old thread, but I'm throwing this out there anyway.  First, really nice build.  I love everything shelby, but would like to know where you got the classic white graphics.  Really cool.  I'm interested in doing a small diecast transport rig for hot wheels sized models.  I remember building a large scale 427 ac cobra long time ago, and one of the blue paints that came up was called guardsman blue.  Turned out pretty good.  Anyway, great build.

The decals came from the AMT 3 car set, with the Cobra, 1953 Ford pickup, and the tiltbed trailer..
