Daddyfink, that kit version pic you posted is from when AMT ran some Johan tools. I have the "Right On" Maverick Pro Stock they did the same with. I have also heard that AMT's 1967 Toronado was also a Johan, but I have never seen the Johan to compare.

Don, I like that '69 boxart too, but I also like the '67 boxart, just not those narrow boxes!

That’s a great model.

First time we’ve seen any Firestone pad printed tires from R2? Cool.

Good point..the other PP white letter tires of this era they've done were Goodyear Polyglas.   Maybe they will do a parts pack w/ these.

This was another great AMT model. I'll get at least one and probably two. The addition of the printed "Hot Rocks" (Firestone Tires) will be a big plus.

Isn't this '69 Olds a Jo-Han tool?

I'm likin' the tires that come with the kit, but I'm not buying another kit just to have those tires "on hand."

I'm sure they will eventually offer these tires in a Parts Pack like they the did w/ the Goodyear Polyglas tires.

The upcoming reissue is the late 80s MPC tool, been reissued as an AMT many times. The funny car kit pictured above was an AMT rebox of a Jo-han tool, however.

Oh no. It was originally released under the MPC label after the "unification" but it was done by the same team that did AMT's '66 Nova.

I think they sell the tires separate from the kits.

They don't...yet. I'm guessing they will offer them in a Parts Pack eventually.

After people buy the kits with them...

I looked at the 66 Fairlane today, which has the same (I think) tires, but didn’t want to spend $23 just for the tires...

I'd consider getting this just for the fresh decals (and alright maybe tires) and then selling off my old 199x AMT/Ertl boxing that I searched high and low for about 3 years ago to find it at something that wasn't the cost of my monthly electric bill.
