Hi all:

Looking to carry this forward, we'll start with the basic format from last year -- with the exception of point #3:

1. must have fun

2 monthly update

3. 1/24 or 1/25 scale

I'll post a monthly recap each month of progress -- if there is no update for an entry in that month, it will be dropped from the contest.  This is just to keep everyone motivated and hopefully help everyone finish a project.

In the absence of any other donations, I will personally donate a $25 gift certificate to either plastic-models.com or megahobby.com for the "crowd favorite".

Any suggestions welcome !!

I'm thinking what to try this time.....hope I don't hurt myself!

I should be able to make a prize donation when it warms up and work gets more steady.

Probably do a 359 that' been looking at me WAY TOO LONG.?

I would like more info, but I think I'm in.

I have a 359 with Peerless log trailer I just started and a 65 Chevy School bus I just started in Jan. Plus about 5 more I need to start.

What do you have in mind for a start/ finish date?  I may jump in again depending on time frame.

I'm still trying to finish my last build off project (1/32 rubber duck Mack). The wheels gave me trouble. I'll sit this one out. I currently also have a 1/24 Auslowe Mack SuperLiner Mk1 in progress. Finally have some parts painted. Will be watching.

HI --

As I said in the first post, I think April 16.

This will give everybody time to get past the tax deadline and have that off their plate.

Finish would be Jan. 31 since we're starting a bit late, but we could be a little flexible on that depending on what everybody thinks.

Thanks

Are we talking any kind of trucks or just Big Rigs?

This has traditionally been a "big rig" truck-a-thon.  But what did you have in  mind ?

Thanks

Hey all:

You can start sending me your entry whenever you want -- please include a picture of the in-box kit you are entering.

I'll be starting a new thread that will be "sticky" named "Truck-A-Thon 2018 Entry List" shortly.

Thanks!

Jeff

OK -- Here's my entry for TAT 2018 -- it's still in it's original hermetic, germ-proof, factory shrink wrap  :-)

It'll be a box stock build -- I hope.  We'll see when we get to the decals.  I'm already fearing that they'll explode into a thousand bits once they hit water.

Thanks Mark !

Yeah -- I was worried that the striping was on the decal sheet, and then realized when I opened it that these "old school" Ertl kits didn't have any paint striping on the decal sheet.  So, yeah I'll be getting a set of the striping decals from Modeltruckin to match the box art.

Will you accept a partially started build?  This might get me to finish my Titan 90.

Please post a picture of where it is now.

Thanks !

Well, that's quite a ways "down the road" from a shrink wrapped kit.    I think in fairness to all, I'll have to decline on this one as everyone else will be starting from bare plastic from an unopened kit.

Thanks

I understand, that's why I asked.

I just want to clarify what is allowed. Many of my builds are with all new parts, but there is not one kit involved. Depending on what project I was to choose, an in box picture may not be possible. For example, can we post a resin cab and parts along with new frame rails etc? If not, there's no problem, just wanting to clarify.

Hi -- that's totally fine.  It doesn't have to be a box kit.  If you want to do a resin cab and post a pic of it and a pile of parts, that's cool too !

Thanks!

Here is mine: AITM Mack B-61 cab over DM 600 chassis. It will be a tribute to a man and his truck which I will outline in the build thread.
