Rider Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 WHOA, this is simply fantastic work. I really dig the centrifuge casting. I too use Smooth-On products, they are very reliable.
Pico Posted September 25, 2018 Author Posted September 25, 2018 The template was taken from the two tone blue car.
Italianhorses Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 (edited) Perhaps the angle of the picture. But the lower front should be definitely more slanted. Edited September 25, 2018 by Italianhorses
Pico Posted September 28, 2018 Author Posted September 28, 2018 After several years work, off and on, but fairly concentrated since April, I beginning to feel I might be closing in on finishing this. Getting the color on is always a satisfying step. Gravity Color's Grabber Orange for the body, black for the fenders. Maybe a bit flashy but so is the car.
Pico Posted October 20, 2018 Author Posted October 20, 2018 Time to shoot the fenders black. This much masking makes me nervous.
Pico Posted October 21, 2018 Author Posted October 21, 2018 I have a bit of fine sanding ahead. Striking color combination.
Belugawrx Posted October 21, 2018 Posted October 21, 2018 Great to see colour going on Pico ! Definitely a striking combo
Eric Macleod Posted October 22, 2018 Posted October 22, 2018 Striking is an understatement. It's coming to life!
Pico Posted October 30, 2018 Author Posted October 30, 2018 I'm beginning to think I'll get this done for our show this Saturday - everyone here is attending, right? Check the events column on the right for the Southern NNL.
Eric Macleod Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 I'm curious...did this one get done in time for a show? Or done at all? Please share! All the best.
Pico Posted November 17, 2018 Author Posted November 17, 2018 It was on the project table at out show, I'm having trouble making the yellow decals for the fenders; as well as working on another project and moving my model building shop from my unheated basement to guest bedroom. I have tons of time in it and will finish it.
misterNNL Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 Looking fabulous. As with most things the greatest reward follows the greatest effort..
Pico Posted December 30, 2018 Author Posted December 30, 2018 Made some progress recently and going to push hard to get this done because I got the hots to roll on to another project.
Gramps46 Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 Looking good. Please keep posting your progress.
Anglia105E Posted December 30, 2018 Posted December 30, 2018 Figoni et Falaschi, Franay and Chapron...... all beautiful coach built motor cars, and you are getting to the most exciting point in the build. Looking great ! David
r60man Posted January 1, 2019 Posted January 1, 2019 Amazing. Love these cars, and the model is sublime. Great work!
ismaelg Posted January 6, 2019 Posted January 6, 2019 Congratulations on a wonderful and unique build! Inspiring to say the least! Curious question: Is that your own color combo or did you replicate an existing car?
Gramps46 Posted January 6, 2019 Posted January 6, 2019 Pico, it is amazingly beautiful. Watching this come together was an inspiration. Gary
Richard Bartrop Posted January 6, 2019 Posted January 6, 2019 Nicely done. We could use more fancy French coachwork.
