Jay Posted June 22, 2018 Posted June 22, 2018 I built this to represent Earnhardt's Daytona upset car... blown tire on the last lap. I made a lot of body mods and such to get this to look like a speedway car. Paint is is Tamiya black polished out with no clear and the decals are from Powerslide. I also made the blown tire!
bbowser Posted June 22, 2018 Posted June 22, 2018 Very nice work! That blown tire is amazing. Care to share your method?
Silver Foxx Posted June 22, 2018 Posted June 22, 2018 This looks so right , a great build , nice detail on the wheels , the dirty tire logos , I like that .
Khils Posted June 22, 2018 Posted June 22, 2018 Very Nice build!!! Excellent representation! Not everyone liked to watch him.......but "Everyone" looked to see where he was! NASCAR......Never been the same or ever will be......since his demise.

I used a Motorworks pit tool set for the tire... basically, I cut it up with sprue cutters and an X-Acto blade and then glued black thread around it to make it look like the cords.
Matt T. Posted June 23, 2018 Posted June 23, 2018 Beautiful build! Subtle tire sidewall weathering really makes it. Masterwork.
jchrisf Posted June 23, 2018 Posted June 23, 2018 Looks awesome Jay... you need to do a video series on YT so I can learn how you do it
THORDOOR220 Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 That's awesome. I might have to try to build one, see if I can come close to yours. Probably won't quite get there, that's pretty good, but worth a shot
Johnny Racer Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Wow! Thats outstanding!!! Love all the detail effort put into this build. Superb effort all the way around and amazing execution.
