Has anyone seen this one?  C'mon, some of you have to have it.   I bought one on the recommendation of a new diecast geek friend.   Well worth it and they aren't real expensive on ebay.  Well, ok they CAN be, but if you look and be patient, you can probably get for around same price as a plastic kit and paints.    This was done for Wix, but unlike so many of the promotional diecasts, the only Wix markings are on the bottom.  No tampos to remove on the bodywork.

I didn't take pics of mine, but found this on the net.

I haven't put it beside my plastic builtups, but it sure looks nice.   My wife was born on 4/27/65, so a 65 cobra 427 seemed appropriate.   She loved it.  She likes the diecasts because she can play with teh features, whereas she is terrified of touching a plastic builtup because they are so fragile.

From racing !cons - they have some really nice stuff.  And it is comparable to Franklin/Danbury mint - could be same tooling?

Looks good displayed with a Danbury Mint 58 Testarossa too.

Following are some quick pictures of the WIX diecast, forgive the quality but they should give you an idea.  Of the 4 diecast 1/24 Cobras it is the best and most detailed in my opinion.

Left to right, Revell, Welly, WIX, Shelby Collectibles (slab side CSX 2000)

I do not have the Franklin Mint 427 Cobra and can not comment on it but at this point I don't feel like I need it.

My bad, I neglected to include a photo of the WIX trunk.

I had the Wix Cobra and now it belongs to a friend, very well detailed and proportioned! I also have the 1953 Corvette, very well done! Neither was expensive and both are great value.

Is the Revell a diecast or the plastic 1/24 Monogram kit?

Love the heat staining on the pipes and other details. I've got the charcoal grey wix cobra; like it because it's not the usual blue rendition.

The Revell is a street diecast without the cutout for the side pipes and the hood scoop but the top is from a Monogram Street Cobra kit.  Maybe I should add side curtains. 5b64f0b4b030d_100_0985crop.jpg.408788b6c70897f465ee2f2ddc06e80d.jpg

Icons also did a 1963 Corvette Coupe with rotating head lamp buckets which is very nice as well.  I do not like white walls on a Corvette so painted them black. It was marketed under the Team Caliber logo.

Icon die-cast. I've got the Cobra plus the yellow GT-40, 67 Royal Bobcat GTO, and all of the University of Racing Legends die-cast NASCAR cars. Great die-casts

Thanks for the older links.  Always good to find history on these subjects.  I am terribly late to the diecast party on these and the "mint" cars.  The good of that is the prices are very reasonable.

...hands down the best 1/24 Cobra you can buy.

Ditto - got a pic of the one I snagged here, with a second photo in comparison to a larger scale Shelby Collectibles one.
