I see you seen that too ! but no Baja Bandito or Rommels rod  ?

I fear stuff like that will never be seen again......for a number of reasons. Sad to me....

My interest would be the '64 Impala. Would this be a straight reissue or something along the lines of the California Wheels series, and maybe a little better engine. Since the '66 Suburban is listed as also being New leads me to believe they may add some of the features of the '66 C-10 pickups.  Just thankful that we will be able to again buy the models we enjoy.

The '66 Suburban was just released last Summer based on the C-10 truck running gear. It doesn't say new it has a date after it, which based on other kits with dates seems to be the last time the tooling was run.

Ya you're right about the Suburban not being New. I'm just hoping that they would add things like the duel exhaust and engine dress up parts from the pick up kit. They'll still sell a large number of these even if it's a straight reissue, but a guy can always hope. Still would like to know just what the issues in red and marked New are modified reissue or a new tool altogether.

The Suburban is a Chinese tool, right? That complicates molding it in the USA. Same with the 64 Impala, 67 Camaro ect ect ect.

Some of the "new" items aren't new,  just stock number changes

In the past this has usually meant some changes in the content of the kit. Could just be a different set of decals and or wheels and tires. I don't think they would just change the stock number of a kit unless there was a change in the theme of the kit. An example would be the '64 Impala that was first issued as a stock OEM style, then as a 2 in 1 and then as a low ridder. Different stock numbers with some changes in content. Again just glad to see something positive is starting to happen.

These are all Chinese kits, this is the Chinese production schedule.  i just posted about it here because it was the most recent Revell news thread

In the case of any snap kits it's because they're switching them all over to the skinny Build-n-Play style box from the normal type box, I guess to better differentiate them from glue kits.

I think you're correct about the China connection. The last Suburban I just got at HL shows a number on the box and the words Zhong Shan on the bottom. I think that the New Revell could just pick up with the Chines suppliers where the old company just left off. I'm sure that accounts would have to be brought current and who knows what else, but the supplier would rather have orders for product than sit on a bunch of molds.

To me this was always about money.

"New Revell could just pick up with the Chinese suppliers where the old company just left off."

I bet the '30 Ford coupe roaster is ready to go, just looking for $.

I'll believe it when I'm holding it in my hand. I tend to think it's a typo, and they got either the year or the model wrong.

I am with you on that.  AFAIK, Revell never did a 68 or 69 Chevelle.  only the 65 and 67.  Would be nice though.

They're not molding anything in the U.S., as covered earlier in the thread it the original picture of the tooling in Illinois is just that, the tooling in Illinois. To the company who has been running and producing the Illinois tooling for the past 2 years.

They're opening a Sales Office, not a "new" Revell U.S. Operations with design, and production.

Or just waiting for all these molded kits, produced before Revell, Inc stiffed the molding facility over a $1.6M unpaid bill, to be picked up packaged, and moved out of their facility.

I think we'll see them again, but I would guess New Revell needs a new licensing agreement with Tom Daniel first. The last ICE T was molded stateside, so maybe the Baja Bandito is or was to be molded here, too, and got caught in the storm when Revell went down the drain.

So, elaborate. The "I know the real story but won't go into details" stuff is getting old. That's Mike Francesa's (The "Sports Pope") schtick. 99% of the time, he doesn't.

I agree, so long the elitist among us have played that game.<_< To what end?

Note that it doesn't say "new". I just checked the Revell site, and the kit number matches the one for the snap kit unfortunately. The kit that intrigues me is the Escalade, since they already sold an Escalade kit and this one is listed as new. The previous kit had the kit number of 2189 as well, so definitely not the same kit. Plus, it's most likely not a snap kit since those seem to have 1000 series kit numbers.

Thanks for the info. I was getting ready for work this morning when I saw this and didn't have time to check the kit numbers. I thought it was too good to be true. Oh well, back to cutting and gluing.

It gets long in the tooth fast. I'm not going to beg someone to let us be privy to these closely held state secrets. If you're going to play that game, don't bother with the vague comments in the first place.

No inside story here....'I fear' is what they call an opinion. I think the new Revell is aiming for more Tamiya like line up and the Tom Daniel stuff is looked at as sully. Add to it they do not have the TD license right now. IMHO ONLY

sorry you're tired.

Let's hope.....many could care less about the TD stuff....but I still enjoy....thx

Are my eyes deceiving me?? A '68 Chevelle?? 'Bout time!! B)

Can we hope and pray we get a righteous convertible outta that?? :D

I heard on good authority that they were indeed working on a 68 Chevelle tool when the sale went through and it got as far as test shots.  Interestingly the tool was designed so that it could produce both 68 and 69 Chevelles.

Well the Foose license expired before the sale took place, and it looks like they managed to pull that one back together again quickly enough to get that kit out in the 2nd month of re-runs.  The only thing that would stand between TD licensing and Revell is TD himself being a stick in the mud over the sale - which I expect is more about how much he was owed, than the entity itself (friendships excluded).

The court erased a good chunk of debt from what I saw in docs posted here....that may leave some folks unhappy. If the Foose kits were produced when they had the license then can sell 'inventory on hand' reckon we'll see.
