Since my friend Thomas posted a couple of pictures of the car, I decided it's better to post a few more.

Lindberg kit, painted in factory colors of Raven Black and Sungate Ivory.

Paint on body is automotive synthetic enamel.

The rest of paint is Revell acrylics and Testors enamels

Foil is home made.

My first Lindberg kit that I actually built. Based on their '40 Ford, I was avoiding to build it, but once I had the box open, my opinion on Lindberg kits changed completely.

Solid, Tulio. One should expect nothing less than perfect from you. One of the best designed kits by any manufacturer.

I can only agree. And I've always been tempted to get one of these kits because they seem so "on the money" regarding detail and proportion. Built to this level makes it all the more impressive.

They're beautiful kits and you did a splendid job on it. The kit was produced in big numbers and under appreciated, which make them one of the nicest cheap kits you can get.

Newerkits?!? Round2 relabeled all of the better quality Lindberg releases  (the '64 Dodges, Belvederes, both '53 Fords, '66 Chevelle, '61 Impalas) as AMT. So much for keeping a classic brand alive. BTW, I got a convoluted response from Round 2 regarding this on its FB page. Verbose, vague and completely avoided answering my question. :D

Beautiful work as always, Tulio! Be careful with the tires - the ones in my kit started melting the whitewall inserts very quickly (going to cast the inserts in resin when I get back to it).

Stunning build..... The convertible next?

Many of the newer Lindberg kits are of equal caliber.

Convertible? Yes, and a very clichê at that. A red convertible.

I painted the inserts with acrylic flat white, on both sides. Hope that helps.

I was looking over Lovefordgalaxies 1940 Ford coupe builds the last couple of days and now his 53 Victoria and it made me take my 53 off the shelf and look it over. Sure enough my white walls are starting to burn. It's been complete for about 15 years. Resin pieces would be nice.

Just wondering if you were showing a 1/1 real car, once again as always your workmanship is amazing, I have a question about the stripes on the drive shaft, clue me in...... thanks

Those are application color code stripes. depending on transmission, version, model, etc, the driveshafts had differences between them. A given set of stripes represented a specific part number driveshaft. Same thing was done with many other parts. It was a easy way to fast ID the part on the assembly line.

Are your inserts painted or in bare plastic?

I ask, because I have a few Monogram 1/12 scale Chevrolet Bel Airs. I always paint the inserts with semi gloss or flat acrylic white. The one I left bare plastic is melting. The painted ones, are fine.

I left them bare.

Of course in Red.... is there any other color for a rag top?

It can be Richie's car from Happy Days
