mustang1989 Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 Get the cameras rollin' boyz. This one's gonna be a showstopper!
smellyfatdude Posted September 9, 2018 Author Posted September 9, 2018 Thanks. Don't know about showstopper. . . . I think I'll settle for "looks nice". Got the engine bay and interior, all wrapped up. Strictly out of box, but there's nice detail in this kit, including the dash decals. For those curious about such things, those seats are epoxied in. Nothing more disconcerting than to be sliding the chassis in to the body during final assembly, get it just about there and be treated to the sound of one of the seats popping loose. Don't ask me how I know that, but that's what I do about it. Got some fresh foil here, so I guess that, and another test fit are coming up.
geetee66 Posted September 9, 2018 Posted September 9, 2018 Man, that is CRISP! The interior panel work is excellent. love the colour combo, too. I might have to get one of these, now I've seen how good yours is ?
geetee66 Posted September 9, 2018 Posted September 9, 2018 And the transparent green steering wheel is a nice touch.
smellyfatdude Posted September 10, 2018 Author Posted September 10, 2018 Thanks folks. No hassles with the interior in. Gotta love it when the parts actually fit, a little massaging notwithstanding. And the glass fit looks okay. From here, anyway.
espo Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 This little Catalina looks great. Just a little trim left to do.
MrObsessive Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 Now that is lookin' so nice! To my view this car looks a little better with the thinner whitewalls. Perhaps a bit more 'trim' even though '61 was the last year for wide whites industry wide. That interior is KNOCKOUT! Your glass looks good from my end for sure!
Rider Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 This is really coming together nicely, great work.
Geno Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 D.W., that is so freakin' cool. That is gonna rock when complete. Fantastic job so far. I am DROOLIN' lol.
smellyfatdude Posted September 21, 2018 Author Posted September 21, 2018 It’s all done. First day of fall here, and of course we’re getting a nice rain/snow mixture. I’ll take some shots outside, once the weather smartens up. ?
John Goschke Posted September 21, 2018 Posted September 21, 2018 Nice work! Looks like the kit goes together quite well. I'm impressed by the accurate looking stance the car has.
smellyfatdude Posted September 21, 2018 Author Posted September 21, 2018 Thanks, fellas. I still have to touch up some of the paint along the bottom, and try to wrestle the decals for the Pontiac emblems on the front and back, but other than that, it’s certainly nice to be done with it. Now, I can resume working on this, a ‘57 Bel Air fuelie convertible that’s been hanging around here way too long. Might get my usual two builds done this year, after all. ?
Lovefordgalaxie Posted September 21, 2018 Posted September 21, 2018 It looks awesome!!! Also have a soft spot for 1957 Chevrolets.
