PettyKW43 Posted November 13, 2018 Posted November 13, 2018 My all time favourite driver Richard Petty said of David Pearson he’s the best driver that ever raced in NASCAR and there’s no way to disagree! RIP David!
bbowser Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 Sad day. What he accomplished on a limited schedule is astounding.
TooOld Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 I hadn't heard . . . very very sad indeed . God Speed David .

THarrison351 Posted November 16, 2018 Posted November 16, 2018 Have three unbuilt, but I ruined an original GTO when I was a kid. I don't know what happened to it 40 something years ago. I did get to see David race the 16 and back to the 21 Chattanooga Chew several times when I went to Darlington in the eighties. He will be missed.
dragmodels44 Posted November 25, 2018 Posted November 25, 2018 Beautiful builds. A true legend, RIP David

vamach1 Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 Not a build but I guess he liked #21. He signed my Mustang Race Cars book at Carlisle a few years ago. RIP David.
moparfarmer Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 To me David Pearson's nicest car was the one when he left Chrysler..The 1967 Fairlane by Holman-Moody..It was brown and gold, very sharp car..Too bad I don't have a picture..

chasracer Posted March 3, 2020 Posted March 3, 2020 Friend of mine back in the early 70's was a neighbor of the Wood Brothers. Back when David was driving the #21 for them, according to my friend - he insisted that the Wood Brothers install a cigarette lighter on the dash. During caution flags, it wasn't uncommon to see David smoking a cigarette. I honestly have never been able to confirm the story, maybe someone else could?

When incar cameras first started. You could see him, and a few others lighting up under caution.
