mrm Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 Paint came out great. Always loved those pastel colors of the '50s.
GeeBee Posted October 12, 2019 Author Posted October 12, 2019 Floorpan painted and fixed to the chassis, masking started on the door panels, still a lot of airbrushing to do on this one
GeeBee Posted October 13, 2019 Author Posted October 13, 2019 Exhaust and rear axle fitted, masked up the front seat bench, hopefully I'll get a little time I'm the week to sit at the building bench
beeRS Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 This is coming along nicely. It looks like a lovely kit to put together.
Superbird McMonte Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 Beautiful colors! I’m liking this a lot!?
GeeBee Posted October 14, 2019 Author Posted October 14, 2019 I'm still surprised that amt don't supply decals for the dashboard clocks, Thankfully there's a solution out there, had them delivered this morning.
David G. Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 Coming along nicely Geoff! Any more shine on the paint than what you have there would probably exceed original factory specs! David G.

Thank you David, this is exactly why i didn't clearcoat it and buff it to a mirror shine, I was after an original factory finish and not an over restored vehicle.
GeeBee Posted November 2, 2019 Author Posted November 2, 2019 Dashboard airbrushed, just the aluminium trim and dashboard clocks to do, the aluminium trim will be done using Bare metal foil, pedals picked out using Tamiya rubber black
GeeBee Posted November 2, 2019 Author Posted November 2, 2019 The interior parts had been drying off for a couple of weeks, so today I got all the chrome trim done, all done using chrome BMF
GeeBee Posted November 3, 2019 Author Posted November 3, 2019 While I love using BMF, it does put a strain on the eyes, time to call it a day, I'll be back at the building bench in a few days.
GeeBee Posted November 6, 2019 Author Posted November 6, 2019 With the interior being finished, apart from the dashboard, I thought I'd do a dry fit with the bodyshell, very surprised that it fits like a glove, amt kits can be a little fiddly getting things lined up, so far this one is going together like a dream, just the dashboard clocks to fit and then the column and steering wheel can be fitted, then the dashboard can finally be installed.
GeeBee Posted November 7, 2019 Author Posted November 7, 2019 Finished off the dashboard tonight, just the steering column, steering wheel and parking brake to fit, I'm hoping to get some time in the hobby room tomorrow as I'm going to be a little busy over the weekend.
GeeBee Posted November 8, 2019 Author Posted November 8, 2019 Interior finished, although the parking brake needs to be fitted, which can be jiggled in from the back of the dashboard
henry57 Posted November 14, 2019 Posted November 14, 2019 Interior looks great. Hard to see in most pics but the backs of the seats are black as well.

Yes, I actually found photos of a Nomad painted in the same colour, after i had fitted the seats of course, I can actually see the moulded in lines now, how I missed that I really don't know, this one has gone on the backburner until I can get the heating sorted in the garage, as I need to mask up and airbrush the engine bay and inner wheel arches in satin black,it's say too cold out there to airbrush lacquer paints, I also need to figure out how I'm going to replicate the read wing side trim, sadly the photo etch parts were damaged in the box, I'll see if I can mask up the seat backs and brush paint the black parts. GeeBee Posted March 25, 2020 Author Posted March 25, 2020 I'm Waiting for the primer to be delivered so I can carry on with the Land Rover, so no time to waist, masked up the body on the 57 Chevrolet Bel Air so the side spears could be airbrushed, for this I used Rustoleum Stainless steel enamel decanted and applied with the airbrush.
