Twokidsnosleep
thanks Dan and Gary...ya she is actually in not bad shape I am taking lessons from Dan on modifying fitment of panels and such BEFORE I get into paint I am getting there
Twokidsnosleep
Working on the little dashboard next Plan is using aluminum tubing, drilling holes in the plastic and making the metal bezels. Then the decals go on a clear mylar sheet and are glued in from behind A work in progress but you get the idea

I have to do a shiny machined surface on the dash. I can put some bare metal foil and then hit it with a dental polisher to replicate that pattern I see some bezels black, some copper/brass....have to decide what to do there Edited February 27, 2019 by Twokidsnosleep
Gramps46
Just a thought. These are the foil under the lids from a jar of mixed nuts and a Keurig cup. Neither is a perfect match for the dash but keep your eyes open for other foil under lids.

Ahh sweet idea I have some foil gum wrappers saved with a similar pattern. Great suggestion, thanks
Dann Tier
There is also a detail company that makes sheets of it in different scales!...I believe HiroBoy carries them...This is looking AMAZING, bud!!!!
Dann Tier
You can even take a solid round rod, attach a tiny disc of sanding film to the end, and carefully twist the pattern on yourself....easy peasy!
Twokidsnosleep
You guys are all so very helpful, seriously. I went the foil route and Barge cemented the foil over the plastic. Then coloured my bezel edges black and press fit them into place. I messed with the steering column and steering wheel so it will turn It should clean up nicely after gauge faces are installed...pretty rough test fit here Thanks for all the suggestions, everything is very helpful ??
