Working on the little dashboard next

Plan is using aluminum tubing, drilling holes in the plastic and making the metal bezels. Then the decals go on a clear mylar sheet and are glued in from behind

Dash looking beautiful.

Thanks Mike:D Not bad so far.

I have to do a shiny machined surface on the dash. I can put some bare metal foil and then hit it with a dental polisher to replicate that pattern

I see some bezels black, some copper/brass....have to decide what to do there

Just a thought.  These are the foil under the lids from a jar of mixed nuts and a Keurig  cup.  Neither is a perfect match for the dash but keep your eyes open for other foil under lids.

Ahh sweet idea

I have some foil gum wrappers saved with a similar pattern.

Great suggestion, thanks :D

You guys are all so very helpful, seriously.

I went the foil route and Barge cemented the foil over the plastic.

Then coloured my bezel edges black and press fit them into place. I messed with the steering column and steering wheel so it will turn

It should clean up nicely after gauge faces are installed...pretty rough test fit here

Everything looks great, but that grille really does it for me!  Absolutely love it!

Cheers man

It and the radiator are gluing up as I write.

I have to re-spray some blue body panel areas as I can see white primer pushing though:unsure:

A real masterpiece here!!!

Don't worry Dann,  still lots of opportunity for me to screw something up and send it sideways off the rails

yes Scott , it did need a full third coat of paint...I left a couple areas too thin!!!!

Made a little nose badge decal as none was provided with the kit.

Tamiya tape painted, I did three to give more opportunity to get the scale right

Sneak peek of her all done as far as I will take her...the number decals are BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH and I won’t place any now. Off to under glass she goes
