Datsun 240z Custom Street Sleeper

I modeled this car after my own 240z that I owned in HS and college. It had an L28et motor and many many aftermarket parts, electronics, and systems. Some quick highlights:

 

1) paint is “Crystal Paladium” (Mercedes) by Gravity Colors

2) seats are resin replica recaros. I added a 5-point harness set from studio 27.

3) kit is from Fujimi “devil Z”, from Wangan Nights. 

4) I added photo etched hood pins for a visual accent.

Beautiful looking build. Excellent paint and interior finish. I have always liked those wheels on "sports cars" they just seem right. This should bring back some fond memories.

Thanks! Yeah I believe the wheels are intended to emulate the “Panasport” wheels. I think they are also called “watanabe” wheels. 

They came as bare plastic, so it took quite a bit of work to get them chromed, clear coated,, and black.

Thanks again for all the kind words! Just an FYI, this kit kind-of sucked. Minimal detail, fit was not great, and did take quite a bit of work to make it looked more polished. 

Still... I have not seen another 240 z kit with this kind of subtle fender flares, rear spoiler, and especially this front spoiler in an all-in kit. 

I thought the color came out great. I’m a big fan of gravity colors (out of Spain not the us). The US vendornis a jerk and seems to only ship after you stir up trouble with PayPal. The Spanish vendor seems to ship next day for me consistently.

You did well on yours however. The Watanabe wheels are the right choice for this car, although I believe the Fujimi kit needs a slight bit of lowering (which is what I did on my build). 

As regards Gravity Colors, I second your opinion. I ordered twice with them (Spanish vendor) around 1 1/2 years ago, and it all went fine and pretty fast. In fact, they were so fast that I couldn't add another color to my order 2 hours later, one which I missed to order in the first place.
