Can anyone suggest a source for Chevy mid-fifties Sierra Gold paint?  I need an aerosol can, since I don't have an air brush.  Thanks

I have used Testors one coat lacquer #1840M Flaming Orange on a '56 Nomad. The color is close but does have a little more metallic than the OEM but it looks great with Tamiya TS-46 light Sand. This will get you very close to the Sierra Gold and Adobe Beige color combination that was so popular.

If you can find the old Pactra R/C paints at your local shop, there was a colour (RC60 Pearl Copper) which was a reasonable match for Sierra Gold. The Pactra shade is slightly lighter, so you may want to add a drop or two of black or brown to tone it down.

The OP was searching for the color in a spray can.

If air brush paint was acceptable, my suggestion would absolutely have been to order a jar from Scale Finishes.

The colour was also available in an aerosol can, but I don't know the number for it.

Makes sense, but then he wouldn't be able to add any other colors to change the hue.

This is Testors lacquer from a spray can.  I have no idea what the color name is.   After the zombie apocalypse when flies mutated to the size of house cats.  lol

Thanks all for your suggestions.  What I'm trying to do is replicate the '57 Chevys of Bob Lambeck that were so successful in junior stock back in the '60s.  I still have one can of Testors Kiln Red, but I don't know if it's still any good.  It may be a little too red, so I may investigate copper, too.  Thanks again--you all have given me different ways to go.

This won't help the OP, but if it helps anyone else, this is a near-perfect match for the factory Sierra Gold on my wagon:

I used it to touch up a few areas in the wheel openings and where I had to clean up flash around the taillights.
