unclescott58 Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 At a local library, I put up a display of mainly models, celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. I'm pretty please with how the display turned out. I don't know if the photos do it justice.
vamach1 Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 Very cool and hopefully it will get some kids interested in models. If boomers still go to the Library they should be interested in your display.

If boomers still go to the Library they should be interested in your display. Expand The car model displays our club has done in the past has been a big hit. Especially with the kids. Our club has, and is again participating with the library in their STEM summer program. And will be doing a model building demonstration there in late August. Now if we could just get kids to join the club. Despite our past displays being done with other members of our local model car club. This Apollo display was done by me personally. As some of you may have noticed, I like to build other things, besides cars. Though car will always be number to me. Thanks to you and Ray above for the kind words. Jim B Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 Awesome Apollo display. I think I had the Eagle & Columbia combination model back in the day. I see that Round2 has reissued the lander diorama, but I don't know if it comes with the Command & Service Modules.
Vietnam Vet67 Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 Very cool display. Just got done watching a new 3 part series on PBS called Chasing the Moon celebrating the 50th anniversary. Lots of new videos and info.
Dragline Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 Excellent display. Kids today need to put down the phone and get involved with creating things. I know it's a tall order but efforts like this can change hearts and minds. Even one kid and it was worth it. Well done.
Classicgas Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 Very cool. Did you build them? Is that at the Mississippi branch?

Classicgas Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 I want to start coming to club meetings again but it's 20 miles one way for me and summer keeps me busy. Maybe this winter I can.
vamach1 Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 I hope to get some pictures in DC on Friday. They are going to project ths saturn rocket on the Washington monument.

Lunajammer Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 Our model club used to do an annual display at our library lobby with models tied into books as part of the display. The library staff said it was always their most popular display. Your presentation is nicely laid out.
