. Nice find, they never did a 60 300 AFAIK.

Correct No 60 or 61 Chrysler 300. the 1st one in scale was the 62

I'm taking the remains of a 1962  300 and combining with  the remains with a 1961 NY and make my own

1961 Chrysler 300, might even chop the top off and make a 1961 300 convertible in 1.25th scale

Sadly a 300 convertible was apparently planned for '61, but for some reason, it never came to fruition.

It was proudly listed on the '61 Johan box along with a '61 Fury and a '61 Dart convertibles which never materialized either.

The '62 Chrysler glass is not the same as the '60 Chrysler/DeSoto unit!  The windshield shape is different ('60 windshield "bulges out" at the top, '62 is "flatter" at the top).  The '62 piece appears to be the more accurate of the two, even for a 1960 car.

'61 Plymouth/Dodge windshield might work, but the rear glass is different from Chrysler and DeSoto.  Not that you'll be tripping over any of these at the shows.  Okey Spaulding was selling Jo-Han clear parts at meets, but last time I saw him (NNL East earlier this year) about all he had was '69 SC/Rambler and maybe some Toronado or Eldorado glass.  The good stuff is all gone.

I guess I must be imaging things, Mark. I performed a test last year by switching the glass from both the '60 Desoto and '62 300 and they fit perfectly into the each other's kit body. Also, it was pointed out in another thread that both the "bulged" and "flat" windshield g;ass was optional for 1957-1962 Chrysler products. The 1960-62 Mopars, including Desotos and New Yorkers, used the common Dodge/Plymouth unibody. Bottom line is they are all the same car, down to the roof sheet metal and front/rear glass.

I've never heard of the "bulged" windshield being optional, but that doesn't make a difference.  I'll stand by what I said (and what I didn't say):

-I didn't say that one part won't fit in place of the other...

-I did say that they are not the same.

The Panoramic Windshield was an option from 1957 through the 1964 model years. It was dropped starting in 1965.

It might appear that way to you; but, historically, that isn't the case. Since it was a documented option, using either the panoramic glass from the '60 Desoto or the flat from the'62 New Yorker would be accurate because both glass options were available for it.

So, according to what you wrote, these to cars have the wrong windshield? ;) :D

as far as kits go the windshield could all be the same in order to cut costs...my 2 cents..

No.

Johan produced both of them depending on the kit.

I built my '60 New Yorker with the Panoramic glass, and the '61 without.

I've done so much shuffling around with the glass in these early 60s Johan Mopars that I don't recall which kits came with what glass.
