bh1701 Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Some photos of a Ferrari F50 I just completed. This is an old Tamiya kit I finally got around to building. Thanks for looking! Bart
Nacho Z Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 She is absolutely gorgeous, Bart!! I like the F50 in Yellow.
olschoolkid Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Very nice Ferrari. It's always nice to see a Ferrari in a color other than Red.
89AKurt Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Came out really nice! I have that kit, so nice to see one built.
DukeE Posted October 6, 2019 Posted October 6, 2019 Great build. The yellow car that was on all the US magazines was owned by Paul Frame. Interesting history. He went to prison, is out now. F50 long gone. https://www.chron.com/business/article/Stunned-ex-CEO-of-Seitel-ordered-to-jail-1475638.php Funny how these cars have stories attached. #103806

The kit was molded in yellow and I intended to leave it that way; but when I painted the black on the underside of the engine compartment lid, it visibly showed through the plastic and darkened the appearance of the yellow on the outside. So, I decided I needed to prime it and throw some paint (some shade of yellow from Tamiya) on it to prevent this. Painting it Ferrari red briefly crossed my mind, but I thought that the yellow was more eye-catching. I am glad I stayed with yellow!
Peter Lombardo Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 Looks great, the yellow is just perfect, not too bright, just right. Well done.

Excatly the same thing happened to me! but I made this kit donkey's years ago - and I didn't want to spray it! so mine has a dark shade for the engine cover! your's looks fantastic though. Many people don't like this car, as it's not as visually appealing as teh F40. But I love it! and the GT version was my favourite on Xbox Forza when I had time to game....
Paul Waymouth Posted October 24, 2019 Posted October 24, 2019 Great job! The black line that runs along the length of the body, was this done just by masking tape? I built this model years ago but avoided doing that feature black line as I didn’t really know how to do it properly. It makes the model really stand out tho, well done
