OldNYJim Posted July 28 Posted July 28 Wanted to try some new figure-painting paints, the new Hobby Lobby weathering airbrush paint set AND some new painting techniques I hadn’t tried yet AND some new glue…so I grabbed a 1/25 diecast and tried them all at once. Fun little weekend project… 4
Sledsel Posted July 28 Posted July 28 (edited) Well, after seeing much complaining on a FB page of the AMT 72 Nova I had to grab one. I tend to do that when people say how terrible a kit is, just so i can see if it is as horrible as people say. Well it did not take long to get the body ready to paint. Some mold line issues but nothing serious to me. Attaching the fenders was no big deal either, but of course done out of sequence of the instructions. Doing a quick build real close to out of the box. So far I do not see what the belly aches about this kit are. So, this is what I accomplished since Friday along with other sub assemblies. oldcarfan Posted Thursday at 12:42 AM Posted Thursday at 12:42 AM I'll be tagging along on my wife's business trip so this week has been mostly getting the house ready for the sitter. I've had some time in the afternoons, but my attention span seems to be on vacation so this is more a what did I accomplish this week thing. On Monday I made a little progress on the Mercedes Rally Van but then I saw a rare Ford Courier U-Haul truck online and got sidetracked. I poked through the stash and couldn't find my Courier but I found another Datsun 620. I cut up a plastic sign for the box and got it assembled and primed in just a few hours. Here's the result so far. Oh and I spent some time making a decal sheet on Word for it yesterday. I put them on today and I'll clear coat it when I get back. Here's hoping I come back from the trip with a clearer head and maybe a couple side trips to hobby shops. 7

mchook Posted Thursday at 05:10 PM Posted Thursday at 05:10 PM Started turning a 50 F-1 into a 53 International. 12
meechum68 Posted Friday at 12:26 AM Posted Friday at 12:26 AM Just got done shooting primer on the 57 Fairlane, I debadged the hood, trunk, and fenders so no markings of Fairlane 500, shot primer on the interior tub, front seat, and dash, all done in Pink Primer due to color wife wants. I got my TT motor put in primer, so I can now start the detailing on the exhaust/turbo's and all that jazz and then put it together. Once that is done then it's the big part of modifying the engine bay for the 47 to make it fit like it belongs. Once that is done and sitting nice, then ride/wheels, and body and all that jazz.

Or make it available on a 3d file sight like thingiverse or cults 3d?

I uploaded to cults i regularly update the file so even as new hubs come out the file wont cost more beyond the first purchase i also uploaded it with a license to print and sell parts because i wont be making any beyond what i need. 1
