Shot some paint on this snap kit. Not completely happy with it.

I really like that shade of blue, not something usually seen on a 'Vette! Is that enamel paint? Sometimes paint jobs need a compatible clear to give it some depth......

Media blasted oil pan , intake, and timing cover, mocking up the engine.,drilled holes. Still need drill more.  There are clearance problems for the hood( bonnet) to fit at the end of the build. So I’m modifying the carbs, stacks, turkey pan and motor mounts to give me around 3 mm of clearance. To try to go back and fix this after you have built it is just about impossible to do without redoing everything. The color is always different with each build out there. I’m trying to make it as real as possible. If you look at the actual picture of number 11 cobra, it has red plug wires, grey valve covers and a white turkey pan. This is right before the 1965 Daytona 24 hour race. The battery is not a autolite battery.  I need my buddy Marks cobra Daytona book to get the full history.

It is enamel, Testors light blue from the small jars. The body was molded in purple, this was sprayed over a coat of primer. I'm going to let this sit a while,  do a little light sanding and hit it again. My wife picked out the color, i would have gone with a metallic.

Very nice Bob - where did you source the BB Moroso Valve covers?

VCG Resins I believe.

The snow won't stop here in Montreal, so I stayed in and finished scratch building a dash for my Mercedes SSK

No actual work, but dug out this one and cleaned it up with some dish soap and water as she was a little dusty.  This was a build my dad had started many years ago and never finished.  It's a Johan 70 442 that he made into a reasonable Rallye 350.  Some of the decals have yellowed but not much one can do about that.  I do remember he scratch built the hood scoops, rear spoiler, and the lower front spoiler which isn't seen in the picture.  I think the grille was missing in this one, so he substituted in a 71 (or 2?) unit.  Not going to go bonkers with it, just some paint detailing and finishing up the engine and other stuff underhood.  It is missing a few parts, but got another kit that can cough up those parts.  I'm kinda stuck at the moment on my current project waiting on paint, so thought this would make for a good in-between project.

Dug out this old resin Bonneville kart today…picked this up at a show and really didn’t want to build it without having at least one copy of it:

It’s a modified version of the AMT streamliner kart; unknown caster but I’ve never seen another and my research came up dry…so I’m making myself a mold to make a second:

Nothing sadder than a racecar without a buddy to race…

Began building my 1957 Chrysler 300 model kit; off to a flying start, especially since the engine basically assembled and painted and some other parts were painted already ( this kit was bought secondhand) and now I got pretty much every piece painted.

Looking forward to seeing this.

Painted up the interior on the '63. I think it needs a bit more.

Vette interior looking good 👍 I’m sure this build will look pretty awesome when complete

The Chrysler’s motor was missing the second set of carbs so those funky air cleaners were sitting too low so I went in the extra parts bag and pulled out a tri carb and cut two off to put under neath so they sit right. Also the original owner glued the filters in backwards but there’s no way they would come out so that’s just the way it is.

It's an old snap kit that was thrown in for free at a swap meet. I'm using it as practice while my part's are in transit, I wanted something to keep me at the bench while waiting, and funny, I've got box top staring me I the face.

Had I known I would have sent you mine, most likely I'll be using an aftermarket engine or different carburetors. Always fun cleaning up after the last guy, isn't it. Looking great so far.

Two weeks ago I ordered the world's largest model kit from online. I've been wanting a place to put all the lawn tools so my shop isn't so crowded. Well, it arrived and it's not quite the slap it together fun ride the ad made it seem. Not all the screw holes quite line up so you have to improvise. Still, not too bad for a full day. I was trying to get it finished while the temperature was in the 50s.  Didn't quite beat the cold front as the wind has changed around and it'll be in the teens and twenties the rest of the week. Got everything together except the doors and trim and I'll finish that next weekend.
