Craig Posted March 3, 2020 Posted March 3, 2020 Another build from a few years ago. I set out to give this GT350 some new wheels and ended up taking it almost completely apart. I saw the appalling job I had done on the interior, so I repainted and added some bare metal foil to the trim. I didn't repaint the body because I'm pretty happy with it, but I did clean it up and polish. I gave the underside a bit of an overhaul, and raised the rear axle I wee bit, because I never liked how low it sat. The wheels are from the parts box. I scrapped the chrome from the spokes and painted them to match the body. The tires are from the kit. It's a nice kit, and I'd build one again! Comments, thoughts and reflections are always welcome!????

vamach1 Posted March 4, 2020 Posted March 4, 2020 Nice work. Is the engine box stock? I could never understand what AMT did not do a GT500 version of this kit. With only the Revell metal kit an an option - this seems to be ano brainer to me. I'm not even talking about a Foose Eleanor - just a stock 428 with two carbs.

Everything is box stock except the rim's. Perhaps the engine from the 68 GT500 is a possible option? ????

spike morelli Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 (edited) Ah......An early '67 Shelby GT-350......likely the last of the Carrol Shelby built Shelbys. I've worked on many Mustangs in my automotive career, and the better car, as far as the big block cars go, is definitely the 428 Cobra Jet fastbacks with the Drag-Pak option ( picture Hubert Platt/ Tasca Ford ), over a 428 Shelby GT-500. Having said that, I have a soft spot for any Hi-Po 289 Shelby, as this GT-350 would be. Oh, enough about that.....beautiful model! Edited March 10, 2020 by spike morelli
