Jim B Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 (edited) Finished this up today. It was a pleasurable build, and I only had an issue with the wheels. Color is Testors Model Master Auto Lacquer Daytona Yellow. I saw a yellow Nova SS on the Web, and used that as my inspiration. It's not perfect, but I am please with the results. Dragonhawk1066 Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 Well done! I need to pick up a Nova kit soon myself.
Jim B Posted March 6, 2020 Author Posted March 6, 2020 Thanks, Craig. This is the kit I used: https://www.revell.com/products/cars/muscle-1964-to-1974/69-chevy-nova-ss.html
Chuckyg1 Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 Looks great in this color. Got two of these myself, yet to be started. Is it the angle, or is the rear window missing.
Jim B Posted March 6, 2020 Author Posted March 6, 2020 Thanks, guys. John, the rear window was there when I took the photo. Must be the angle.
tbill Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 Nice looking nova Jim, love the yellow, it really pops.
Jim B Posted March 6, 2020 Author Posted March 6, 2020 Thanks, Tom. Now I need to find something else to use the rest of the can on! ?
PHPaul Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 Sweet! I had a 1:1 '69 Nova SS. Only really cool car I've ever owned.
Jim B Posted March 6, 2020 Author Posted March 6, 2020 Thanks, Paul. They are a cool car. Bet they fetch a pretty penny now!
Classicgas Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 Nice. Oops, you forgot the upper radiator hose lol. Might I suggest either a Molotow chrome pen or BMF for your chrome trim.
David G. Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 That's pretty! Sweet color, good clean build. David G.
Jim B Posted March 6, 2020 Author Posted March 6, 2020 Thanks, guys. I appreciate the comments. Lee, the upper radiator hose is there. It's attached to the top of the engine in front of the air cleaner, then runs to the lower right corner of the photo & attaches to the top of the radiator by the white bottle.
Nazz Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 Nice build. beautiful color. When I was a kid , there was a local used car lot that had one of these, on the 1/4 panel was scripted " lemon twist".
grodudulle77 Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 I like the look with yellow color , you’ve made a relevant choice !???
