Saw this at Walmart a couple weeks ago, size and shape looked passably good (better than most Jadas, anyway). I paid $15.47 or $14.57 for it, I forget which—anyway, less than $20.

It scales just a hair larger than 1/24. It couldn't sit on the shelf next to my Welly 1/26 '69, but it could sit next to another '69 Judge I have that's 1/24. Or a Monogram '69 Judge. It might be a hair wide, too, but that doesn't bother me. Overall shape is acceptably pleasant to my eye. Would be a lot of work to take it back to factory stock. You could cut off the lower body parts with the custom side exhaust, but you'd still have to come up with a stock-ish chassis, wheels, and tires. Underneath this one's all Pro Street/outlaw racer, with almost comically large rear slicks. But I've seen real-world professionally built "pro touring" cars with more radical body alterations.

Only standard 1st degree Snake-Fu for this one. Sand the tire treads, white-stem the head and tail lights, detail the grille, hit the chrome wheel spokes with Model Master Steel for a less toylike look. And of course my beloved Silver Sharpie for the “chrome” window trim, which really brings this one up a level.

You might notice some “fading” in the Judge stripe on the left front fender. I had an “oopsie” there with the Silver Sharpie. Not a big deal, it comes right off with rubbing alcohol—except the alcohol started to take off the stripes, too, which it usually doesn't, or at least not this easily. I might try to touch them up later, or I might just remove them completely. They're not really accurate, and I think they'd look better in either lime green or a bright red-orange anyway. Oh well. I see I also forgot to paint the white backup lights.

I kinda like this one, and am glad I put the time (couple hours) and money (very reasonable) into it. It looks good on the shelf! Thanks for looking, and, as always, comments welcome. B)

Looks good even if a bit cartoonish.    It's a design that works and makes an attractive model.  kudos to their designers and artists I guess?   Personally I wish it were like  Verdero green or something like that with properly colored stripes.   And leave the P/S stuff.   I can't imagine having a whole collection of cars like this, but one everyonce in a while adds some spice to collection.  It doesn't look that far a stretch from some of the stuff in HOT ROD magazine recently.

THanks for sharing.

Interesting look Pontiac. I am curious how Jada stuffed those slicks under the rear.

The chassis is made to take them. It's not even close to stock.

Almost reminds me of Big Chiefs GTO from Street Outlaws other than his is a '70.

Nicely done, Jada cars always look better with a few upgrades.

That would be brilliant!

I had the same thought several times while working on it. And his is matte black. Maybe I should call mine the "Shiny Crow"? B)

Thanks for the encouragement! Now I just might do it.

Thinking of airbrushing bright lime green on plain clear or white decal to make a solid area, and then cut it out of that with an Xacto. That could work.

That pro mod platform wing is exactly what I was thinking this car needed

I don't personally like that style of spoiler, and if I did EVER so much, adding it would require grinding off the Jada's molded-in Trans Am-type spoiler, which I think looks pretty good. (And then repainting.) Not gonna happen--on mine, anyway. B)

This is a really cool looking model.... I agree that those wheels seem a bit over the top, but it does have a decent look... I like what you've done... Cool...

I might have to snag one of these things.... I think I saw one in orange....

This week Walmart had one of these in bright red. I forgot to see what kind of wheels were on it, probably the same thing.

I've grown kinda fond of my black one. B)

A ways back, two jobs ago, our department secretary asked me about a diecast or model of a red 68 or 69 GTO as a Christmas gift to her adult son. I was able to find one, probably Welly or Jada. I did some minor paint detailing and added a N.Y. state plate on the back with his first name and put a Model Car Garage frame around it.
He was so happy that he called me to say thank you! That made my day!

Diecast and Resincast are being merged into Model Cars and Model Trucks. This was supposed to go into Under Glass, I placed it in the wrong spot.
