I’ve seen hands with moving fingers still sealed in the plastic bag. Yes, I'm total awe! That molding technique could be utilized for making things like working suspensions and ball joints for steerable wheels on model cars, but somehow I don't see that ever happening in the plastic model model car sector of the hobby.

I wish AMT and Revell could step it up. Even if it was just snap fit engine half’s that you didn’t need to sand to 20 minutes so the intake sits correctly. I can’t say it enough Bandai’s quality is awesome!!
Muncie Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 Sandboarder - thank you for the answer. That explains why I see some Gundam that look like the same kit at the same scale with a much different price - the difference is the features and detail. I understand that there is a whole story in a Japanese TV (or internet) show behind each model. Good guys, bad guys, intergalactic wars...
Sandboarder Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 There is actually a lot of different series. The original is as old as Star Wars and there is 2 series on Netflix I believe. I watch Gundam Unicorn earlier this year and enjoyed it. Most boxes have the difficulty in a gold box and under it is the series it’s from. So it could be HG Unicorn or HG Iron Blooded Orphans etc. pretty cool as well when looking at kits.
Pete J. Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 These are a couple I bought in Japan about twenty years ago. Perhaps it is time to get them down and have a little fun!
kpnuts Posted April 4, 2020 Author Posted April 4, 2020 Well it was supposed to be delivered by the 6 of April but now it's the 30th ( I suppose it's down to recent events)
Rusty92 Posted April 6, 2020 Posted April 6, 2020 Gundams are fun. I don’t have exactly those but I do have quite a bit of Robotech and Macross kits. You will enjoy it!
stavanzer Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 I just need a good kit of the Macross ( I think) "Rifleman" Mech. The only one I know, the only one I like. The only one I'll ever build too. https://www.sarna.net/wiki/Rifleman

(personally, I prefer the Marauder over the Rifleman) I encountered mechs back in the 80's through the first Mechwarrior game (which would run on a "286" based PC. Battletech has been around for longer than Mechwarrior (the computer game) and has a large audience, there is a free online version of Mechwarrior that has very good looking graphics. I have a few "gundams" because of the mechwarrior game but they are over 30 years old at this point and I never finished one yet ( I also have mint unbuilt star wars R2D2 and C3PO ). Richard Bartrop Posted April 10, 2020 Posted April 10, 2020 The smaller Macross kits were included in the Battletech games as gaming miniatures.
stavanzer Posted April 10, 2020 Posted April 10, 2020 My cousin and I, (we are of Scots extraction) used to joke about "MacWarriors", Black Watch Plaid, Mechs. I'd like to build one someday.
