Maliburacr Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 Was also told the 64 Fairlane would have a low riser 2X4 intake / air cleaner that will clear the stock hood. Yenko Nova
Gregg Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 Can't wait to get there tomorrow, looks like it'll be a good show! Hey Gregg, did you get any pics of that Axial Scale Trail Truck with the '54 Chevy style truck body? I drove it!!!
Gregg Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 Yes, yes, yes, I think so, yes, it should be, yes, and yes Now, in what order those answers are is anyone's guess I think you guys are right on on almost everything the Fiat Double will be in great new tin, as will the 25T The other munster style will be two in one tin kits I'm so bloody tired why does JD have to make my feet so sore??????? I will type up notes on the road home tomorrow what a three week trip sorry to have taken over this thread!
stump Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 G'day Gregg, Sorry to fire more Q's at ya.... Could you determine if the new 70 Challenger is 1/25 ?? Kinda hard to tell in pics, but it looks awfully similar to what Monogram originally had in 1/24.... It looks to be a 2in1 as well..? Or is there to be two versions available..? There is loads of kool stuff there, enough to satisfy the majority I'd think. The GT40 will be on my Santa list too.....can not wait to see that. Thanks for the great coverage big guy....hope you had one o' those JD's for me....if it's what I'm thinking it is....
RodneyBad Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 I just want to thank you Gregg for all the up to the minute updates on your trip. you are Johnny on the spot. I can't wait for next year to hurry up and all the new kits coming.
rollinoldskoo Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 (edited) AMT/MPC proposed releases. they are gonna reissue the 51 chevy convertable and 1980 monte carlo right? please tell me its true.... how about the revell 87 Cutlass and Regals? any word? are those 37 and 52 Chevy kits from Lindberg 1:32 reissues as well? re-issues are great for BUILDERS and suck for COLLECTORS Edited October 18, 2008 by rollinoldskoo
gasman Posted October 18, 2008 Author Posted October 18, 2008 AMT/MPC proposed releases. nice too see all those Dukes of Hazzard issues. hopefully the people at Auto World will correct the Charger with the correct rear window.
rollinoldskoo Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 I'm guessing the 51 Chevy & 80 Monte Carlo are on the 2008 release schedule & this page has the 2009 schedule. *yay* time to order some 52 conversions gonna build a fleet of "Bombs"
Billy Kingsley Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 Let me see if I have this straight- Revell is doing a full Challenger, while AMT is doing a snaptight only? Is that right? If so, I'll be getting the Revell one and skipping the AMT. Overall, pretty cool stuff. The majority of my purchases will be the 57 Black Widow-something I already knew from last time new kits were announced. I plan to get several others, though, most definitly the Tijuana Taxi-I've been wanting one of them but didn't want to spend the money for it. I'll probably get the Rommel's Rod as well, to go with my Tom Daniel Collection. I will add another Red Baron, even if only for the Bi-Plane. I have a plan for it... I need more 62 Pontiacs for NASCAR work as well, I had only one, so I am glad to see them coming back. Overall, cool stuff...
Zoom Zoom Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 Seeing Steve Goldman's photos posted elsewhere, it turns out my information on the Charger police cars was dead wrong ; my source quoted from Testors information on their particular police car, not the Lindberg. They're full-detail glue kits, not based on the diecast tooling. Good stuff! About time the kit actually sees the light of day, we've been waiting a few years for it now.

Zoom Zoom Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 where? I hope he doesn't mind me linking to his album, he'll probably post it here later: Steve Goldman's iHobby Album
SteveG Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 (edited) I hope he doesn't mind me linking to his album, he'll probably post it here later: Steve Goldman's iHobby Album I don't mind at all, thanks for posting it Bob. Here's some photos of them. I've been promised a test shot in the near future but they are deffinately based on the same tool as the Super Bee kit. Not only do we get a plastic kit Charger Police car but 6 all new light bars. Besides the current Code 3 MX 7000 and Vector V-bar, Lindberg added the Code 3 360 and Javelin, Federal Signal Arjent, Tomar Blade, Whelen Edge Ultra and Patriot LED bars. All 8 will be included in the undecorated kit !!!! -Steve Edited October 18, 2008 by SteveG
James Flowers Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 I am a happy guy. I'll take all the old reissue AMT and MPC kits I can get. They are way out of my price range on E-BAY or other old kit sellers. Those greedy folks can sit on them now till the cows come home ! I would love to see every model come back from the 1960's and 1970's.
Aaronw Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 Nice to see all the big rig stuff, particularly the White-Freightliner DD, when the SD was reissued a few years back I heard it was probably the last time we would see a White-Freightliner cabover, something to do wth licensing if I remember correctly. That Charger should be a good seller just for the lightbars included, a nice Charger police car is just a bonus. I noticed a '32 Chevy pickup in with the Lindberg stuff, anyone know what scale that will be? It would be nice to have a 1/25 truck from the 30s that isn't a Ford (just for variety, nothing against Fords).
Joe Handley Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 (edited) I drove it!!! Sweet, what's your thoughts on it? I also took a picture of the Charger cruiser kit's interior....I will warn you, it's not the best pic though.... Edited October 19, 2008 by Joe Handley
Joe Handley Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 Wanna make a bet that back seat would suck with that cage back there!
Zoom Zoom Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 Wanna make a bet that back seat would suck with that cage back there! Hard to tell from your pic, but is the back seat the same as an R/T, or does it represent one of those newfangled 1 piece molded plastic seats that's easy to hose off? I would imagine it's hard to stuff larger prisoners back there; but then again, who cares? Not like they need to be pampered!
miatamadman Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 It sure looks like the molded restraint seat. I've been waiting forever for this full detail kit! Plus with 6 new lightbars!!!!YEAH!
Joe Handley Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 I didn't look at the back seat until I got these pics in the computer tonight.
Aaronw Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 Wanna make a bet that back seat would suck with that cage back there! I would think being in the back seat of any police car would suck, I've always tried to avoid finding out first hand.
djway3474 Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 Did we ever find out if the Chev Funny Car was metal or plastic??? Plastic I buy metal pass Of course I will be buying about a dozen of everything else mentioned LOL In Lindbergs stuff I saw some old Chevys. are they in the 1/25 range they would make some great hot rods for something new. I am really going to be very strained for cash next year. Dwayne J

Either way you look at you've got a bonus. On the other hand, all those vintage Chevy's are 1/32nd scale, sorry ! Steve
Tom Kren Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 Steve thanks for all the pics and info i cant wait till 09 !!!!!! I have a feeling i will be living in the garageLOL
