stavanzer Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 I've been getting kits from a couple of Well Known Mail Order outfits. One in Georgia and One in Wisconsin. Both have decent prices and great service. My problem? Postage/Shipping costs. I'm paying over 30.00 to ship my orders (usually 4 kits) I'm losing a whole kit, with every shipment. So, I'm wondering, are there any Kit Pushers based in California or on the West Coast, that might allow me to shave some of the shipping costs? If there aren't, of course, I'll still keep using the 2 I use now.
von Zipper Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 Give Burbank's House of Hobbies a call , they sell on eBay and take phone orders

mikemodeler Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 Tower Hobbies has an discount code of 0A15 to save $15 on orders of $50 or more. Many times the discount covers the freight and they sell paint and glue too!
jchrisf Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 I don't think anyone can touch ScaleHobbyist on price or shipping. https://www.scalehobbyist.com/

Fast shipping, even with all the stuff that's happening now.
jaymcminn Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 Scale Hobbyist has the new 1/12 Italeri Alfa 8c for a better price than any other US vendor. Shipping, especially given the size of the thing, was very reasonable and I got it in less than a week. I'd use them again.

I am very impressed with their packing too.
vintagerpm Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 Up Scale Hobbies in Indiana has free shipping on all orders in continental US for the month of April.
GeeBee Posted April 10, 2020 Posted April 10, 2020 I'll recommend Burbank hobbies, dealt with them many times, great service every time. https://houseofhobbies.com
RancheroSteve Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 Burbank's House of Hobbies is my LHS, so I've never had to mail order from them, but if the shut-down goes on for too long I may have to. I'm not going to run out of kits in the next 30 years or so, but supplies maybe.

Let us know.. the website says they are a couple days behind due to the larger than normal ordering. I'm good for a while.. got my last order that last week of March before all this quarantine
Tom Geiger Posted April 12, 2020 Posted April 12, 2020 I ordered necessary supplies from an eBay vendor in New Jersey. I basically searched for a vendor who had the things I needed.... glue, putty, accelerator... at reasonable prices without excessive shipping charges. I ordered on Thursday afternoon and it arrived here in Pennsylvania on Saturday. Easy peasy!
Force Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 Pegasus Hobbies is located in Montclair, California, I have been to the Moreno St shop lots of times and I think they do mail orders too. Their website is not that good but they usually have lots of kits and accessories.
1967RMP Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 Put me down as a Burbank's House of Hobbies fan. I used to go there all the time when I worked in Glendale. I just placed an order with them yesterday. Great service and selection.
RancheroSteve Posted May 25, 2020 Posted May 25, 2020 I see that Burbank's House of Hobbies is now doing curbside pickup for those of us that live close enough. I might have to place an order soon.
