Jim N Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 This is the Revell of Germany kit. I built it box stock. I started painting it Duplicolor Autumn Maple Metallic and ran out of paint in the middle, so I oversprayed with Testors Honduras Red. Looks a bit different, but I kind of like it. Gloss coat with Future and waxed with Mequiers. The only problems developed on final assembly. The side glass was interfering with the sides of the interior and I eventually had to remove the side glass. The car looked weird this way, so I took some plastic rod and made the B pillars. There was a slight warp in the frame or the body that caused one of the front tires to sit off of the ground, so I adjusted the spindle and fixed this problem. This is my first completion in over a year, so I am pretty pleased with the result. Thanks for looking.
Italianhorses Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 Looks great! Such a weird looking car for a Ferrari.
Jim N Posted April 22, 2020 Author Posted April 22, 2020 Thanks for the kind words everybody. I appreciate it.
Matt Bacon Posted April 22, 2020 Posted April 22, 2020 That looks very slick... nice crisp build and colour, and the interior detail painting looks good. Surprisingly unloved car, IMHO: you can buy one with 30,000 miles on it for less than £60K, and it's a properly quick and very well equipped Ferrari! I've done one for a friend in the metallic grey scheme he would choose, but I've got another one and I'm going to experiment with one of the two-tone liveries, which I think suit the 'expensive limo" positioning of the real deal... best, M.
robertw Posted April 25, 2020 Posted April 25, 2020 I think it turned out very nice. I've also talked to several builders who ran into problems with this kit, which probably explains why mine is still sitting in the stash. Well Done !
Funkychiken Posted April 25, 2020 Posted April 25, 2020 It is a strange looking Ferrari, but an excellent build!
Jim N Posted April 27, 2020 Author Posted April 27, 2020 Thank you again everybody. I appreciate the kind words.
