Tamiya 1/24 Alfa Romeo GTV (1996) Twin Spark 16V

Pretty straightforward kit to build, everything fit fine, except maybe hood needs a bit of work to sit right. Built this one box stock.

And BOOM ? you're done!  Came out great!  You build very clean and neat.

Thanks! Building out of the box does not take long!

Another stunning build, Alex!

Your masking, eg in the interior, is always exemplary. Do you have any tricks or are you simply better at it than everybody else?

Umm, not sure, tamiya masking tape? I don't think I'm doing anything special, just patiently working through it and make sure I burnish everything down one more time before spraying the paint.

Nice and clean build on a car I've never seen in my life.

Haha, they never came stateside. Neat cars, though.

I really enjoy your paint work. So crisp and clean.  Do you mask and spray your black trim ?  I have this car in my collection finished so I can really appreciate your efforts even more.

Rich, yeah - its masked and airbrushed. In my WIP thread, I have a pic where it is all masked up if you want to take a look.

Its a great kit of a rather obscure car, but I love it and had to build it!

Thank you Alex...had a good look at your WIP.  Was just curious as I thought I was the only one to do this. We are basically on the same page. It is easily 5 times the amount of work to spray and mask but in the end the results are worth it. Thank you for the reply.

You bet. I usually paint my body shells on the inside as well, so masking and airbrushing it is the only way to do it right, really.

Hi Again Alex, I just had a look to your Flickr gallery. You are an amazing modeller...I got mesmerised by your photo gallery, it is very pleasant to see all those photos of perfect models lol. Your paint jobs are spotless.  I'm curious about your car background, some of your old photos are from real cars. Do you work with them?

Well thank you, much appreciated.

All real cars you see on Flickr are my personal cars - my other hobby is buying older cars and bringing them back to their glory - restoring them back to close to factory stock and minty fresh. Just another type of "building" :)

Wow that's really cool. One can see your knowledge and experience with real cars reflected in your scale models. Keep up the excellent work.
