Mattilacken
Back when i was around 14 I saw a video from Japan, maby in Best Motoring, (this was back around year 2000) of a Yellow Supra that sounded incredible and made such a nice powerslide when doing time attack of the day. See the vid bellow. This made the foundation for the respect for the Supra and how cool they are. So i have had this body laying around since i got started on the other project, and had an idea of building a Tribute for the JAS80. A sort of What if they did a flat out race car that could compeete in any form of racing in Japan but still being sort of a "street eligeable car" A true time attack supra. What got me started was when i found a cheep started kit on the same supra on Swedish Ebay which would lend everything but the body. Stripped the paint from the front fenders as good as i could. opened the front allot to resembel the original front more than what the original kit had. Aded a SAS wing supports from the early 2000's that i had in the PB along with a C5R wing with some other wingsides. Wheels are "18 i belive with slicks of course! I have done first coat of primer and the interior is almost done, nothing fancy here since its a curbside. But it wil look cool on my shelf! Next step is to finish of the body and shoot some silver and then yellow. Will se if i manage to get a decal paper so i can make the decals. Or is any body up for making a set of 4 decals for me? This is the one i will finnish first of my started ones Edited June 11, 2020 by Mattilacken

Mattilacken
Made some progress! I did a rattle can paint job that did not turn out the best, but learned some and got me an airbrush after that and the window trim and lights are my first Airbrush detailing. Need to work on the masking. interior is glued and ready. I just slap it together with no fuss. I will go no lengths on this one at the moment. Mattilacken
Fitment test. Think I will go with these more skinny front slicks from tamiya Porsche GT2 race car. Fitment looks better then. As can be seen in the pictures the paint did not turn out to well but i just want to put it on my shelf and be done with it so i am okay with the flaws but wont do the same mistake again. And i realy need to make an other yellow car soon so i can try making it better. Comments and your 2 cents are welcome to improve my building. Mattilacken
I have been struggling with the window masking and tried to improve my method. Will se how it turns out after some paint. I have changed the height of the wing. Looks better with the lower wing supports. the paint is bad.. but I won’t but it in the tub since paint is what I always dread and what I really hesitate on. Next one will be better and I might get me the new gen supra and make an other JUN tribute. Give me your thoughts!
stitchdup
Looks pretty good mate. I find when masking for the black on glass, that doesn't have a window mask included, that masking the outline on the outside first with cheap tape then using good tape to do the inside helps. It makes it much easier to see where the tape needs to go
Modlbldr
Anton, I like what you have done with this. I am looking at your build on my phone and I don't see any glaring mistakes on the paint. I like the look and I think your decision to lower the wing was a good one. Keep it up. Later-

Worked okay but I need more practice. On 9/26/2020 at 6:53 AM, Modlbldr said: Anton, I like what you have done with this. Yes lowering the wing makes it look more with the car, and one thing is probably that the wing blade is huge! Even though it is from a 1/25 corvette C5R, and the wing sides are from the calsonic JGTC R34GTR it looks big on the trunk of the Supra. I need to respray the wing Due to a an acident. Mattilacken
So I screwed up.. I was installing lights in mi display when I put a little bit of pressure on the shelf and it broke and launched a Aston Martin brembo caliper through the rest of the shelf’s. roof is smashed on the Supra, my sons cuda got a beating, his first model is scraped and my Porsche is destroyed. Mattilacken
So after the display cabinet disaster the body went in the pool for a while to strip al the paint and primer of the body. And after that the damage to the pillars did not seam as severe. I will glue them back and carefully heat and bend them a little and it will be just fine! the front some how got a notch taken out in the processing some where, can’t finde the piece so the putty came out. Some more sculpting needed after curing but the general shape is there. the other parts also saw some filling. will try to keep at it and get it to paint once more. Will use other primer and paint this time.
Pete75
Really sorry about your catastrophe, Anton!! I would be very unhappy if anything like that happened. Silver lining though: it all looks fixable and this time you can get your paint job just how you want it! 10/10 for patience & perseverence ? Mattilacken
have made som progress and it start to look as it did but better. Primer next I think Edited October 23, 2020 by Mattilacken
Mattilacken
Made som progress, first round of primer is on and after some touch up it looks ok. Also trying out the model master acrylics through my Aztek gun and it seems to work if I make it thin, almost as water. might be a sink mark there.. have already been over it with putty but hey my eye must have missed it.
