KWT Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 Just finished up my latest in the crusty old GM truck line... yep, it's green also. Well at one time it was. Tamiya Red primer base, then a green (that I can't remember the name) and weather master. The toolbox is from a friend on instagram. Went a little extra on this one. If you know anything about the beautiful square body... They were hard to put gas into and the rusted out like crazy. This one has the bed with holes, rust around the corners of everything(especially under the doors), added dents, a fuel stain, and a crooked front bumper. I had a lot of fun with this one. As always, thanks for looking... on to the next... 1
Goose1957 Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 Good looking truck. Nice job on the weathering and rust. The dents look very realistic, especially on the tailgate. I've enjoyed looking at all of your truck fleet. Jeff
espo Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 Looks great and reminds me of one here in town. Rust would never sleep with these trucks and the lower corner of the cabs are bad also. You really captured the look of a used up old truck with this.
Tom Geiger Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 I like it! It looks like every second one you’d see!
WigWag Workshop Posted July 27, 2020 Posted July 27, 2020 love this build, I have this kit in my stash, going to use your pictures for reference.
KWT Posted July 28, 2020 Author Posted July 28, 2020 Thank ya much guys! I do appreciate the kind words.
'70 Grande Posted August 1, 2020 Posted August 1, 2020 What is your process for creating those excellent-looking body dents? Really like this build and want to steal your dent-making methods for some of my in-progress builds!

BUT KEEP IT MOVING... until it "changes" the looks of the plastic. And that's hard to describe until you see it. After that you push something hard into it and let it cool.... Practice.. practice... practice on junk before you do anything on an important body.

Agreed. I use a birthday candle standing on end for heat. I use an old Matchbox car with square edges to push the dents into the plastic. It’s good to have a lot of reference photos of dents! I get a lot of them from eBay Motors truck ads
AmericanMuscleFan Posted August 23, 2020 Posted August 23, 2020 You did a very good and realistic rust job on this pickup truck Jeremy! We had one of these old GMC truck behind the house and it was even more rusted than that but a real work horse. Well done sir!
KWT Posted December 16, 2020 Author Posted December 16, 2020 Thank ya much Francis, I do appreciate it. Sorry... as you can tell I ain't been on in a while
