ozmodeler Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 I always thought the'49 /'50 Olds looked a bit bulky through the centre of the body, so I decided to build a sectioned and cleaned up version to see the difference.I took a scale 3inch section from the widest part of the body so the re-alignment would be easier .I used 1951 Chevy headlights frenched in, removed the chrome trim &door handles and cut down the tail lights. I've kept the identity of the car but I think it looks much sleeker now. 1
doorsovdoon Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 Nice work! It's a got a Studebaker look about it.
TooOld Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 Nicely done ! A lot of the 50's body styles look great with a nice section job .
espo Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 Very sleek looking with the sectioning of the body. You bended everything back together in way that you almost can't tell what was done. The headlights clean up the front fenders well.
Koellefornia Kid Posted August 11, 2020 Posted August 11, 2020 Cool! The section job really improves the body lines! I still have one of these Olds in my stash which I wanted to chop in days to come. I may try to section it as well...
