Thanks Guido, I have found a lot of photos and information on this mysterious engine myself, so I will continue to search the internet for more if I ever decide to embark on a new project where I can use it...

Hey Lorne, long time no see!  I'm glad to see you back on the forum and hope to see more update of your fantastic Chevy pickup soon!

Thank you very much for your kind and superlative comments on my builds, but I just consider myself to be an avid miniature car builder who enjoys sharing and learning from other members of this forum.   Looking at all the great work and new projects that are added every day on this forum, I am confident that our hobby will be in good health for years to come!

Thanks again my friend!   Take care, Francis

Unreal details and SHINY ??? purple.  Love it.

Thanks Jim!  Plum Crazy is one of my favorite Mopar high-impact color and I think it fits like a glove to this car!

Kwap! Less detailed ? That RR has more detail and scratch building than 99.7% of the folks in this hobby accomplish! Beautiful model!

Thanks for the kind comments Tom!

Everything being relative, I used my last completed build (70 Plymouth HEMI GTX) as a comparison point which I think was my most detailed model to date.  I feel very flattered to have the approval of a model car builder of your competence sir!

Take care, Francis

Wow, to think this is an older build and you've improved from this project is unreal, but true !

I can stare at your build pics for hours, always finding something I've missed or trying to figure out how you accomplished a certain part... I'm blown away every time !

Do you research all these details ?  Things like the rear brake lines look so detailed, with little brackets and bits added.

Thanks for sharing another incredible build Francis, I'll be following along with anything else you build, and will still be blown away by your talents !

Thanks for your kind comments Martin, I do appreciate them!

Building model cars is very important as a hobby (the passion for cars) and as a good way to keep my brain healthy as I hope it will help to keep aging problems at bay.

I always try to improve on what I've done on the projects built in the past and I often find a better way to create a particular piece right after making it, so that keeps the motivation going I would say...

Speaking details, everything is based on pics found on internet and I try to reproduce these details as close as possible (I'm a detail freak I would say...).  I do have hundreds of pics of different 1:1 cars and parts well organised on my computer for reference purpose.  When I can find technical dimensions I also use them to recreate the parts to scale with the limitation of the tools I have. If I don't have what it takes, I order the necessary tools to make the part as close as possible to its actual dimensions.

I still have a few older models that I will try to release when time permits.

You are always welcome my friend and take care, Francis

Thanks Ron!  I will try to take some outside pictures with natural light to see how it looks under the sun...

If the result is good I will post them in the next comming days (I forgot to take pics of some work done on the body).

Hello everyone!

Today was a beautiful sunny day so I decided to try something new by taking photos outside.  I also realized that I forgot to take pictures of some details of this build, so this was a good opportunity to update this thread.  The new photos are not bad but some are perhaps too bright so I think that confirms to me that I am a better builder than a photographer...

Questions and comments are welcome!

Take care, Francis

Francis,  your builds are amazing. Inside out, upside down, right side round. You have set the bar VERY high.  Your talent and passion for the hobby shine thru in every part of your magnificent cars. Thank you so much for sharing!  It really does look like you could turn the key and flash that elephant up...
May I ask where you source your scale nuts and bolts?

Cheers, Steve

Thanks for your very kind comments on my builds Steve, I really appreciate your sincere sentiments my friend!

It is always a pleasure to share and my main reason for being present on this forum is precisely for that, it is not one way, I am learning and I find a lot of motivation and useful information from other members of this forum and your are one of those for sure!

My main sources for scale nuts and bolts are RB Motion  http://www.rbmotion.com/  for the aluminum simulated bolts and nuts and Scale Hardware (Model Motorcars)  https://www.modelmotorcars.com/scalehardware/  for the real brass or nickel plated brass nuts and bolts.

Hope this help, Francis
