Thanks Steve. The color is Model Master Phoenician Yellow. As I mentioned I'm using a 1:1 car that was in Car Kulture DeLuxe in their June edition. This color reminds me of the '60's GM color that I liked.

Once upon a time, I was going to do a Moebius '53 Hudson in Phoenician yellow with a metallic medium brown top.

The actual color was '57 Ford "Silver Mocha".

That Ford "Silver Mocha" was a great looking color. Funny thing is I don't remember ever seeing one that color back in the day, of course that was some time ago.

At some point, I will definitely be doing a '57 Ford Fairlane in either "Inca Gold" and "Silver Mocha", or "Coral Sand" and "Silver Mocha".

2 of the most beautiful combinations available on the '57 Fords in my opinion.

Very beautiful build David!  The wood grain is very convincing as other have mentionned and the work on the engine is clean and accurate.  Gauge faces look great, are they waterslide decals from the kit or from an external supplier?

Thankyou on the wood graining. The gauges are decals from the kit and they are very nicely done. I wish the picture had turned out a little clearer.

Glad that you like it. While getting the moldings positioned properly was time consuming I think it is the best solution.  Was your '48 an Aerosedan ?

No such luck. Mine was a master sedan. It was lowered, ran a 235 CID six with a 3/4 race cam and split manifold with a mellow set of deep toned mufflers. Paint with ice blue pearl paint and tasteful pinstripes. It was fun to drive and now our grandson loves it.

"More Doors" like your old car are becoming more popular because of their price usually being lower and I have seen a few fixed up like you described and they look good and there's room for the whole family.  Maybe post a picture just to give the idea. With the later model 235 cu in engine I'm sure it was a lot quicker and more reliable.

This build is inspired by a car I saw in De Luxe Car Kulture magazine. The actual car is a Convertible but I wanted the general look of a Low Rider. IMG_1335.thumb.JPG.8f3099825fb4667c5824f73047d22f8d.JPGIMG_1342.thumb.JPG.612d3b6547a734eb4bf4913db82aab04.JPG

I bought that same exact magazine just for the article on that article on the '48 Convertible. Beautiful classic post war Chevy!!

A small set back. Found some bubbling in the clear finish on the Sun Visor and the fender Skirts. After a 2 day bath in the Purple Pond I finally got back to bare plastic. Some trim had to be re glued. I'll repaint these parts by the week end and tidy up some of the chrome trim and install the windows.

Thankyou for checking it out. I hope to have this under glass by Monday. The bumpers are always a fun fight.
