doorsovdoon Posted September 6, 2020 Posted September 6, 2020 Very nice clean builds? The Lada Niva has a bit of a following in the UK. Great little trucks.
Mike999 Posted September 6, 2020 Posted September 6, 2020 That looks fantastic! I've built that kit, but it didn't come out looking half as good. Inspiration to try again... 10 hours ago, doorsovdoon said: The Lada Niva has a bit of a following in the UK. Great little trucks. Ladas were very popular in Egypt when I worked there (2005-09). The Egyptian military used the 4-wheel-drive Niva as a staff car and general workhorse. Here's a Lada 1200 wagon, fully loaded with humans and their baggage. The license plate says "Prive," meaning Private Vehicle. But it looks like the driver is actually using it as a taxi. That requires a different and more expensive "taxi" license plate. Lots of Egyptian scofflaws do that.
doorsovdoon Posted September 6, 2020 Posted September 6, 2020 The Lada Riva was a very popular car in the UK around the 1990's, I used to see them everywhere, and then they just disappeared. I don't even see them at car shows.
ATHU Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Super nice 230G and VAZ 2121(Hachette?) Great job!!
iamsuperdan Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 Looks familiar! I built the original ESCI version a few years ago, and painted mine in a matte green, very similar to yours. You did a much better job!
64Comet404 Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 The Lada and Lada Niva were popular in Canada in the late 1970's and early 1980's, due to their standard features and cheap price. Haven't seen any in my area recently, though I did see a couple of sedans in Toronto a couple of years ago.
Dominik Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 very nice and clean. Well done! like the Lada also ☺️
e30lover Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 Beautifully done and those trim and panel line works are impeccable! What was the color you used to pain them?
