bill-e-boy Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 This is an old build from the 80's AMT 29 Roadster from the Ala Kart double kit with black Duco paint - the real deal with no clearcoat - just colour sanded and rubbed out Interior, screen and guauge panel from the Ala Kart Wheels and tyres from an 80's release of the Revell 56 F100 Motor and blower from scrap box with carb from an AMT 69 Fairlane Cobra Rear end from a Lil John Buttera kit The chassis is fully scratch built as back in the day we did not have a kit to rob a pinched 32 frame from. I used an AMT 32 for the frame rail dimensions and went from there Look at the pix and you will see lots of added detail stuff mostly from scratch I will post pix of some of my older builds over time as I get around to photographing them 1

alan barton Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 Very cool. A dear, sadly departed friend of mine street drove and raced a remarkably similar car . Black with a red interior, 32 grille and Centreline style wheels. Twin tunnel ram instead of the blower on a very healthy small block. This brings back some memories! Cheers Alan
tim boyd Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 Tasty Baste! This is a great example of the best possible type of model car replicating a '29A/'32 rails highboy roadster back then. At that time, any such model was a major scratchbuilding project and Bill did a great job of combining that with the best of the existing parts from kits available then. Congrats Bill! TIM
doorsovdoon Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 Beautiful looking rod. Those wheels are Huge!! I love it.
misterNNL Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 Thanks for posting this sweet A bone rod. Looking forward to seeing more of your creations.
bill-e-boy Posted September 21, 2020 Author Posted September 21, 2020 Thanks guys for for the kind words Yup you are correct Tim - no photo-etch or resin stuff available then so had to do it the hard way and do with what we had to hand NZAnglia - over the hill in windy Palmy
Modelbuilder Mark Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 really cool! Very nice rendition and it looks like it is holding up well and well cared for.
